If you are eligible for funding, SAAS will pay your tuition fee directly to the College. Students who are not eligible, or who do not apply to SAAS, will be invoiced directly for the full cost of the tuition fee. Students can apply to SAAS on-line at www.saas.gov.uk. Overseas fees Please check with the International Office for the tuition fee charges for 2015/16. Full-time non-advanced courses (ie.National Qualifications, Scottish Vocational Qualifications, ACCESS courses) The 2015/16 tuition fee is £1,008.00 If you are “ordinarily resident” in the UK & resident in Scotland on the start date of the course, the tuition fees are waived. You do not need to make a funding application to the College for payment of your fees. However, further funding may be available to you in the form of a Bursary or EMA. Block release, Part-time day or evening courses Tuition fees vary depending on the course you wish to enrol on. Please check with the relevant faculty when you are enrolling. Payment for tuition fees can be made at the college cash office. Acceptable methods of payment include cash, cheques, credit cards and debit cards. Payments can also be made by telephoning the Finance Department on 01355 807609 or 01355 807302 with your credit or debit card details. Students whose fees are greater then £100.00, can make an arrangement to pay by standing order. An initial deposit of 10% must be paid at the time of completing a standing order. Standing order agreements are available at the college cash office. Part Time Fee Grant This scheme provides up to a maximum of £1,274 a year towards the cost of part-time Higher National or Continuing Professional Development tuition fees. The level of tuition fee will be pro-rata based upon the number of Scottish Qualification Framework Credits (SCQF) you are studying. To qualify for this funding, you should have an individual income of £25,000 a year or less. You also need to be studying an eligible part-time Higher Education course, Professional Development Award (PDA) or Continuing Professional Development (CPD) at levels 7-11 of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) and complete between 30-119 SCQF credits per year. You can only apply by downloading a copy of the Part-Time Fee Grant (PFG1) application from the SAAS website, www.saas.gov.uk . You should also download the notes (PFG2) to help you complete the application. Copies of the Part-Time Fee Grant form are available for completion from the College Cash Office or Student Advice Centre. The student is responsible for submitting the form to SAAS. Please note, you must already be a SDS ILA account holder, BEFORE enrolling on a course if you wish to use SDS ILA funding to pay for that course. To use your SDS ILA account, please complete a booking form, available at the College Cash Office, or from the College website. Please note, not all courses are eligible for ILA funding at South Lanarkshire College. Please check with the College, or on the Skills Development Scotland website for the list of approved courses at South Lanarkshire College, before completing an ILA booking application. Please refer to the SDS ILA booking form for terms & conditions of use. Fee Waiver If you are in receipt of a relevant benefit, and studying less than 16 hours per week, the tuition fees for most part-time courses may be waived. Not all courses offer fee waiver, so please check with the relevant faculty before enrolling. Exam fees & fees for resits do not qualify for fee waiver. Please refer to the College Fee Waiver Policy, available from the College Cash Office, Website or Student Advice Centre for the terms & conditions of fee waiver. Discount for Senior Citizens A discount of 25% on course fees is available to students over the age of 65. This discount is not available in conjunction with an SDS ILA funding application.
