PROCEDURE AND CRITERIA FOR CASH TUITION STUDENTS
Parents living outside the boundaries of the Center Grove Community School Corporation who wish their
child(ren) to attend Center Grove Schools must complete the Application for Cash Tuition Status and
provide the necessary documentation. The materials should be sent to the Student Services Director at the
Education Services Center. Upon positive recommendation from the school administration, the application
will be sent to the Board of School Trustees for their approval at a regularly scheduled meeting.
Applications will be processed as received and parents will be notified promptly as to the action of the
Board. The final deadline for application submission for the fall semester is June 15.
The criteria for students being considered for enrollment in the Center Grove Community School
Corporation will include:
1.
Program space available to accommodate the student.
2.
Classroom space available to accommodate the student.
3.
An academic record that reflects potential for success (current school year and two prior
years, as appropriate)
a.
For students entering kindergarten, first or second grade, the Corporation will
administer a reading assessment as part of the application process. Scores on this
assessment must reflect potential for success.
b.
An average grade of B or better (or equivalent).
c.
For a current resident student moving out of the corporation, an average grade of C
or better is expected for that student to be considered for cash tuition status.
d.
ISTEP+ scores (or current State mandated test) for grades 3, 6, 8, and 10 as
appropriate.
e.
Criterion referenced test scores and/or standardized test scores (if applicable to
current school)
4.
No prior history of disciplinary problems, including suspensions or expulsions.
5.
Record of good school attendance (Current school year to date and past two school years).
6.
Student’s involvement in extra-curricular activities in school or community.
7.
Tuition paid prior to official enrollment in the Corporation. Tuition may be paid in two
installments (one each semester). A credit card may be used to make payment.
8.
The Corporation reserves the right to review the continued placement of a child who is
admitted on a cash tuition basis.
9.
The Corporation reserves the right to annually review and adjust the per pupil cash tuition
amount as necessary.

TUITION
The Board of School Trustees shall assess tuition for attendance in corporation schools by students
who are not entitled to received a free public education this corporation and whose enrollment
meets the criteria established by the Board and sufficient classroom and program space is
available.
Tuition rates, when applicable, shall be available before the beginning of the school year or before
the student’s attendance commences. Each year the Superintendent shall report the number of
tuition students, their school/district, and their academic status to date to the Board.

TUITION
The fee for cash tuition is determined by the Board of School Trustees following a
recommendation by the Superintendent of Schools.
This fee must be paid prior to the student’s attendance and may be paid in two (2) equal semester
installments.
The following criteria for enrolling students in grade K-12 who are being considered for cash
tuition will include:



Tuition paid in full prior to the student’s enrollment or arranged to be paid in two equal
installments (each ½ of the total amount). Payment can be made using cash, personal check,
cashier’s check, money order, VISA, or MasterCard.
Program space available to accommodate the student
Academic record that reflects potential for success (current year and two prior years).

TUITION POLICY
DEBT COLLECTION
The Center Grove Community School Corporation has a process of collecting outstanding debt
which is owed by parents, patrons, businesses and others. This is necessary due to money owed the
Corporation for textbook rental fees, cafeteria fees, and all other specified fees.
The Corporation utilizes the services of a private collection agency to assist in the recovery of
monies owed. When an account is submitted to the agency, the debtor is notified and requested to settle the
account. Failure to make a satisfactory response can lead to one’s credit rating being adversely affected or
possible legal action being instituted. State law allows school districts to assess a fee for bad checks. Any
payment which is dishonored by a depository institution will result in the assessment of a twenty-five dollar
($25.00) charge plus the amount equal to the actual charge by the depository institution.

to approval by the Board of School Trustees of the Center Grove Community School Corporation.
Following approval of cash tuition status, I understand that continuation of this status is contingent upon
my child remaining a student in good standing.
