Student Activities Council Graphic Artist Intern
Application Information
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Graphic Artist Intern with the Student Activities Council (SAC). Enclosed
you will find the necessary information to apply for a graphic artist internship. Please read the information carefully
prior to submitting your application.
Our hope is to identify two or three graphic artist interns that will work on graphic design work for SAC throughout the
2015-2016 academic year, beginning in the summer of 2015.
Position Description
Term:
July 1, 2015 – April 29, 2016
Hours:
Vary based on project load and number of assignments
Pay:
$8.60/hour (Student Employment Wage, Level Two)
Requirements & Qualifications
1. Must be enrolled as a Xavier undergraduate for the duration of employment.
2. Must be in good standing with the University. Good standing includes both discipline and academic standing, and
for is defined as follows:
a. Not on University or Residence Life probation
b. Any previously assigned conduct sanctions were completed on time
c. Cumulative GPA of 2.00 or higher through spring semester 2016
3. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to take initiative and work independently.
4. Candidates must demonstrate an ability to follow strict deadlines related to design. Ample time will be given for
each project, but each project will also have an assigned number of hours for the job.
5. Advanced knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is required.
6. Must abide by university policies and regulations.
7. Must be eligible to work in the United States.
SAC Graphic Artist Interns are not members of the Student Activities Council and are not required to attend SAC
meetings. There may be some meetings and trainings held by the Vice President of the SAC for the students in these
roles. Members of the SAC are not eligible to apply for these intern positions.
Graphic artists are supervised by the Associate Director for Student Involvement and are project managed by the Vice
President for the Student Activities Council. Design jobs are submitted online from members of the SAC and are then
assigned to designers, along with deadlines and quantified number of design hours by the SAC VP.
Students may use their own equipment and software for designs as well as computers and software (Photoshop,
Illustrator and InDesign versions CS4 & CS5) available in the Office of Student Involvement.

a. Upload two to three samples of your previous work. Please use jpeg or PDF versions of your files and
compress file sizes down to less than 10MB per file.
b. Preferred samples include student programs or events at Xavier but any work that showcases your
technique and ability to manipulate both images/graphics as well as text content/copy, are welcomed.
3. Sign-up online for an interview.

4. Arrive on time for your interview in the Office of Student Involvement, Gallagher 210.
