In 1958, NCTU was re-established in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The University has been the forerunner of science and technology. Subsequently, it has laid a firm foundation for the Hsinchu Science Park (HSP), the “Silicon Valley” of Taiwan. Yes! Students are required to ask the course supervisor before they really enrol to the courses. Course offer: Language courses How many credits are equivalent to full time studies per semester? We provide free Chinese Language courses for all international students. The number of credits required of students in the bachelor’s program of each department (degree program) of the University shall not be less than 15 credits per semester during the first, second and third school years. The number of credits required per semester during the fourth school year shall not be less than nine credits. However, such restrictions shall not apply in special situations with the consent of the director the department (degree program). Student grades are divided into academic grades and ethics grades. Ethics grades are given under the percentile method, with 100 being the top grades and 60 being the passing grade. Grading system Academic grades may be given in the following manners: 1. For students studying in the Bachelor’s program, educational program and Bachelor’s students studying in the Master’s program, C- is the passing grade.
