Teachers utilize SuccessMaker reports to target instruction to individual student skill deficits. SuccessMaker teachers routinely communicate with classroom teacher (if different) on specific students. Some staff using SuccessMaker have attended Advanced training and share their knowledge with others in their school. Principal and/or Assistant Principal have attended Administrator training and provide leadership for SuccessMaker use in the school. SuccessMaker custom courses are used to specifically target skill deficits of Tier II/III students. Teachers integrate ExploreWare courses to address multiple learning modalities and needs of advanced students. Targeted students use SuccessMaker 4 or 5 times per week for 15-20 minutes per session. Schedule exists to ensure SuccessMaker use increases student instructional time in the area of need. Licensed teachers provide an active teaching component in a small group setting focused on specific skills students are addressing in their daily use of SuccessMaker. SuccessMaker teachers coordinate with classroom teachers to supplement skills taught in the classroom. SuccessMaker teachers help students see how the skills and concepts they learn with SuccessMaker translate to other classrooms and real world situations. If a non-teacher or paraprofessional manages the SuccessMaker lab, he/she communicates regularly with teachers on individual student progress and areas of difficulty. Exemplar Classroom teachers review student and class reports at least weekly to evaluate students’ individualized performance and learning levels. Teachers utilize reports to make modifications to classroom groups and address student areas of difficulty. Teachers utilize SuccessMaker performance data to communicate with parents. SuccessMaker reports are used to monitor student intervention progress. Appropriate changes to instruction and student interventions are based on data. Enrollment in SuccessMaker is fluid; students not progressing or reaching targeted goals exit from the program. ExploreWare courses are used to further challenge students who reach goals but are unable to exit from the program due to scheduling. Involve students in tracking their growth Students are not involved in goal setting or tracking their SuccessMaker growth. Students monitor their growth with SuccessMaker at least monthly. Students set goals and monitor their growth with SuccessMaker at least weekly. Students receive feedback daily on their accuracy and/or growth; they graph or track their progress. Provide student recognition There is no positive recognition for student SuccessMaker growth or accuracy. Students are periodically recognized for their SuccessMaker progress. Students are routinely recognized for SuccessMaker gains and/or accuracy and/or skills mastered.
