Major to Career Planning Activity— (20 minutes)
Greatest Accomplishments and Your Abilities
Instructions: Thinking about HOW you actually accomplished the things you are most proud of
doing in your life can tell you not only what abilities you have, but may also tell you what abilities
you get satisfaction from using. Think about the accomplishments in your life you are most proud
of. They could be any kind of accomplishment – work-related, academic, social, or personal. List
what you would consider to be your 3 greatest accomplishments, and why you are proud of each
accomplishment. Then, list the skills you had to use in order to accomplish these things. List as
many as you can.
Take a moment to share your accomplishments with a classmate. After sharing a brief overview on
your accomplishment, talk about the skills you recognized using. These skills are transferrable
skills and can assist you in your career planning.
