Central University for Nationalities
Central University for Nationalities (CUN) is one of China’s most important comprehensive universities, and is
one of the 38 key universities receiving direct support from the Chinese government. With an advantageous
geographic position, it is convenient in transportation. It has all necessary facilities in the beautiful campus. With
distinctive ethnic characteristics, CUN has a comprehensive set of disciplines, covering liberal arts, science,
engineering, medical science, management, education, economics, law, arts and physical education. Humanities
are its main focus, while ethnic studies are its defining speciality. Its ethnology, Chinese minority languages and
literature, and Chinese minority arts rank top in China and well-known in the world. At CUN, the only Chinese
university where all of China’s 56 ethnic groups are represented in its faculty and student body, multiple cultures
exist harmoniously. It is also one of the first 8 universities in China that enrolled international students and began
teaching and researching Chinese as a foreign language. All majors at CUN are open to international students.
