How to Apply to the BSN Program.
To apply to any option in the School of Nursing, complete the following steps:
1. Complete an application for Admissions or Readmission to College Credit Courses.
Designate Medical Center Campus as “preferred” campus, and enter: [PRESELECT
CODE] as your preferred program.
You may complete the Miami Dade College application online at http://www/mdc.edu, or
you may bring your completed application to the Medical Center Campus Office of
Admissions.
2. Send official transcript(s) from all Higher Education Institutions attended (other than
Miami Dade College) to the Medical Center Campus, Office of Admissions. NOTE:
Evaluation process can take up to 8 weeks. It is your responsibility to ensure that official
and completed transcripts are sent to:

Medical Center Campus
Office of Admissions

Please note that foreign transcripts will be evaluated on a course-by-course basis.
Graduates of foreign schools must complete the CPT Reading and Writing sections and
have a minimum of 12 college credits at Miami Dade College before transcripts are
evaluated. Evaluations of foreign transcripts may take longer than 8 weeks. All foreign
transcripts must be translated by a certified language translator and must be accompanied
by a copy of the original transcript.
Application is deemed incomplete until transcript evaluation is completed.
3. Meet with an advisor after evaluation to ensure that all prerequisites have been met.
List of prerequisite are:
 Associate of Science in Nursing or higher
 Active license as a Registered Nurse
 Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
 Minimum GPA of 2.5 in your Associate in Science Nursing Core courses
 Have 30 credits of Nursing Core courses or equivalent from Associate in
Science or higher degree
 Complete the following common pre-requisite courses:
 BSC 2085 Human Anatomy and Physiology I
 BSC 2085L Human Anatomy and Physiology I lab
 BSC 2086 Human Anatomy and Physiology II
 BSC 2086L Human Anatomy and Physiology II lab
 CHM 1033 Chemistry for Health Science








CHM 1033L Chemistry for Health Science lab
MCB 2010 Microbiology
MCB 2010L Microbiology lab
HUN 1201 Essentials of Nutrition
STA 2023 Statistical Methods
PSY 2012 Introduction to Psychology
SYG 2000 Introduction to Sociology
DEP 2000 Human Growth and Development
NOTE: You must have completed or be registered to complete these prerequisite courses
prior to admission to the BSN program.
4. Register for remaining prerequisites courses needed.
5. Submit supplemental application to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program to the
School of Nursing, Medical Center Campus, along with a one-time non-refundable
$25.00 application fee. Applications must be received by September 1st for January
admissions.
6. Successfully complete a background check and drug screening.
