Dear Alumni, It’s been nearly four years since I first took on the task of serving you as Alumni President. Thank you for your prayers, thank you for your encouraging words, and thank you for how so many of you have continued to support NBC in person, in finances, and in prayer. As per the Alumni Constitution there are three objectives I have pursued in leading the Alumni Executive. 1) To maintain a mutual alumni interest in the welfare of NBC. 2) To maintain fellowship among all former students; 3) To maintain an alive executive to co-ordinate the alumni activity and interest. I have seen a growing wave of support for NBC in our Alumni Association. Numbers have gone up at Alumni Weekend, Alumni projects have been paid for at one weekend that would have taken years in the past, and the “Many Hands” program has continued to grow. Just as importantly, I am certain that the prayer support and word of mouth support for this school has grown equally over that same time. It’s a reality that the further our years at NBC grow behind us, the tougher it becomes to maintain a committed connection. I would plead with you today to stay the course. A simple and practical way to keep this connection is to join NBC’s “Many Hands”. By committing to a small, but invaluable monthly gift, your impact grows exponentially as you join hands with over one hundred other Alumni who have already joined the team. Shortly after I became president my wife and I raised our “Many Hands” contribution from $25 to $100. Would you join us to make the load lighter? Let’s build on the existing momentum and see if we can attain a reachable team of two hundred Alumni giving on a monthly basis to NBC. Just $25 or $50 a month multiplied by such a large team of givers makes such a significant impact - you enable NBC to ‘count on’ a certain amount toward their yearly budget. I am praying for the Lord to burden many of your hearts in this way. I hope you are willing to respond to His prompting. You may never know the impact your small gift plays in the continuing work at NBC. Alumni Weekend is only two months away now, and I’d ask you to consider coming out this year. Some of you come on an almost yearly basis, but many of you haven’t been back on campus for years. Why not make this your year to come? It’s inevitable for staff and faculty to change over the years, along with the students, but you can come out and see what God is doing TODAY through the staff and faculty and students He has brought to NBC in the present. The more we as Alumni of the past support NBC, the better we make each passing school year for the current students, who are the Alumni of the future. I would like to make an extra emphasis on registering for Alumni Weekend this year. I realize this is an added inconvenience, and a few extra minutes of your time, but as the numbers at Alumni Weekend continue to grow, we are finding it increasingly difficult to plan events and especially meals without knowing numbers of those planning to attend. Sufficient seating and ensuring there is enough food for all at mealtime are integral elements to any gathering! The easiest way to register for Alumni Weekend is by phoning 1-888-862-5095 and talking with NBC Enrollment director, Jenny Dyck. Our theme at Alumni Weekend this November 19-21 is “To God be the glory” and it is with this phrase I would like to close. I give Him full praise and credit for the exciting ways He has blessed this school over the past four years. I look forward to seeing you in November. It’s been a pleasure to serve you Jason Elford
