Medical Directorate Fife Acute Hospitals Operational Division Queen Margaret Hospital Whitefield Road Dunfermline Fife KY12 0SU Telephone 01383 623623 www.show.scot.nhs.uk/faht Enquiries to Olwyn Lamont Respiratory Nurse Specialist Extension E Mail 4237 Olwyn.lamont@faht.scot.nhs.uk Dear Student, We look forward to welcoming you to your placement with us. The specialist nurses you will be working with are based either in Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy or Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. On your first morning, please report to room 2.AL.14, which is on level 2, in the corridor adjacent to the Intensive Care Unit at Queen Margaret Hospital. You are not required to wear your uniform on your first day; however you may be required to wear it at other times of your placement. This will be discussed with you. Your hours will generally be from 9am-5pm, although this may vary slightly. During your placement you will spend time with the Lung Cancer Nurses, the Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Nurses and the Asthma Nurse. We aim to give an insight in to the role of the specialist nurses, how they interact with the patient and the extended multi disciplinary team both in the hospital and community setting. We hope this will give you a better understanding of the complex needs of patients with respiratory disease. We hope that you enjoy this placement and again are looking forward to you joining us. Please feel free to contact the above extension if you have any queries prior to your placement. Yours sincerely OLWYN LAMONT RESPIRATORY NURSE SPECIALIST
