Through this program, each person is challenged to take five steps to help make their families, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods safer. The “Five Actions for Emergency Preparedness” are: Make A Plan: Does your family have a centralized meeting place? Are you ready to evacuate or shelter in place for several days? What will you do with your pets? Build a Kit: You’ve made your plan, now put it into action by building the crucial emergency kit. The kit should include a radio, flashlight, first aid kit, non-perishable foods, water, etc. Get Trained: You have a plan, you’ve built your kit, now learn how to save a life. We offer a full line of CPR classes, Automated External Defibrillator, First Aid and Pet First Aid classes. Volunteer: Now that you have a plan for your family, you may now want to help your community. The American Red Cross Lower Shore Chapter is a volunteer led organization. We are always in need of volunteers to help in many aspects of our chapter. Give Blood: To arrange for a donation, please contact the Blood Bank of Delmarva at 410-749-4161.
