“Together We Prepare”
“Together We Prepare” is a nationwide initiative to help communities prepare for emergencies and disasters
before they happen. Through this program, each person is challenged to take five steps to help make their
families, workplaces, schools and neighborhoods safer.
The “Five Actions for Emergency Preparedness” are:
Make A Plan: Does your family have a centralized meeting place? Are you ready to evacuate or shelter in
place for several days? What will you do with your pets?
Build a Kit: You’ve made your plan, now put it into action by building the crucial emergency kit. The kit
should include a radio, flashlight, first aid kit, non-perishable foods, water, etc.
Get Trained: You have a plan, you’ve built your kit, now learn how to save a life. We offer a full line of CPR
classes, Automated External Defibrillator, First Aid and Pet First Aid classes.
Volunteer: Now that you have a plan for your family, you may now want to help your community. The
American Red Cross Lower Shore Chapter is a volunteer led organization. We are always in need of volunteers
to help in many aspects of our chapter.
Give Blood: To arrange for a donation, please contact the Blood Bank of Delmarva at 410-749-4161.
