Body:
Save time and make the most of your evidence based clinical resource by quickly assessing the quality of
clinical evidence with DynaMed. DynaMed provides easy-to-interpret Level of Evidence labels based on
rigorous methodological criteria allowing users to rapidly judge the quality of evidence and potential for
bias. Evidence may be labeled in one of three levels:
•
•
•
Level 1 (likely reliable) Evidence – Research with data that include clinical outcomes and meet
an extensive set of methodological criteria which minimize potential bias.
Level 2 (mid-level) Evidence - Research with results addressing clinical outcomes and some
method of scientific investigation but with a fundamental flaw in study design that may
result in bias on the results.
Level 3 (lacking direct) Evidence – Research and reports that are not based on scientific analysis
of clinical outcomes. Examples include any clinical trial without patient oriented outcomes,
case series, case reports, expert opinion, and conclusions extrapolated indirectly from
scientific studies.
