Woodruff Elementary Fire Drill Procedures When the fire alarm sounds: Evacuate the building using the evacuation map as a guide Each teacher needs to take the rolling cart Each grade level head is in charge of taking a walkie talkie—they should be set to channel 11 Each teacher lines his or her class up in the appropriate place outside Each teacher immediately accounts for all students If all students are accounted for, the teacher holds up the green side of the sheet protector If all students are not accounted for, the teacher holds up the red side of the sheet protector If students are not accounted for, the names should be given to the grade level head The grade level heads will report via walkie talkie that all students are either accounted for or not accounted for and will list names of students not accounted for The principal will report to grade level heads when it is safe to re-enter the school Students evacuating during prep: All specialist classes should exit through the P.E./lunch recess doors and walk to the south part of the black top in front of the fence. All specialists should give an accountability report to the second grade level head Teachers of students at workshops should evacuate the building through the closest exit and then walk directly to meet their students Students evacuating during resource, speech, ESL, language lab, or other released time: Special Services teachers should evacuate via the closest exit (as seen on the evacuation map) and report their students to the nearest grade level head for accountability Once students are accounted for, they should be walked to meet their class Special Services teachers should then make themselves available to cover teachers who are needed to help with injuries or CPR Students evacuating during lunch or recess time: Students should evacuate the lunch room via the P.E./lunchroom doors All students at lunch or recess should congregate in the infield of the baseball diamond Outside supervisors should meet students and begin dividing them by grade Teachers should meet their students and line them up north of the swings Teachers should then report student accountability via walkie talkie If there is an emergency: If weather is poor, or the emergency is severe or long lasting, students and teachers will go to the LDS church on 1000 West
