The scientific content of this course covers the didactic, preclinical and clinical components involved in Implant Dentistry. This includes treatment planning, surgical, prosthetic and maintenance phases involved in treating patients with dental implants. Hands-on preclinical and clinical training are main parts of this course.
Delegates will have the opportunity to place and restore 3 to 5 dental implants during the course.

1. Implant Basic Sciences
This module aims to enable course delegates to understand the basic sciences underpinning the clinical management of dental implants, including head and neck anatomy, bone physiology, medical assessment, choice of anesthesia and antibiotics, preoperative and postoperative care (where appropriate to implant clinical practice) and patient selection.
2. Treatment planning , Radiology, Occlusion, Photography and
Marketing
This module aims to provide course delegates will acquire a sound grounding in treatment planning, 2D & 3D radiography in implant dentistry as well as photography .
Ethical marketing skills will also be discussed in relation to implant dentistry and tips and hints on running a successful implant referral practice will be discussed.
3. Basic Implant Surgical & Restorative Skills
This module aims to enable course delegates will acquire a sound grounding in surgical principles of dental implantology and the basic restorative aspects in restoring dental implants in selected patients requiring a single implant restorations. Concepts of implant occlusion in the partially dentate case will also be discussed.
4. Evidence-based Implant Dentistry
This module aims to provide delegates with good grounding in the principles of evidence based practice and its importance in implant dentistry . Up to date systematic reviews will be also presented illustrating various basic and advanced dental implantology techniques.
5. Advanced Implant Surgical & Restorative Techniques
This module aims to help course delegates to broaden their surgical techniques for placing dental implants in advanced and complex cases , managing soft tissues for dental implants in addition to guided bone regeneration and augmentation techniques. Advanced techniques in restoring dental implants will also be covered in this module such as implant bridges, over dentures and advanced aesthetic cases.
6. Maintaining dental implants & managing complications
This module aims to enable course delegates to understand local and systematic risk factors of implant failure, as well as surgical and restorative complications.
Maintaining dental implants and preventing as well as managing peri implant mucositis and peri-implantitis will be discussed.
1- Treatment planning skills: Surgical, Prosthetic and Radiographic Planning .
2- Basic surgical skills including suturing, flap design, 3D implant placement and implants exposure.
3- Basic Prosthodontic skills including impression technique, abutments design and managing prosthetic super structure.
4- Managing complications in dental implants such as managing peri-implantitis, prosthetic complications and surgical complications.
5- Placing & restoring dental implants under direct supervision of the course mentors
