Adoption Statement

In accordance with Regulation 19 of the Town and Country Planning (Local
Development) (England) Regulation 2004 (as amended), notice is given that the
Lake District National Park Authority formally adopted the Ambleside Campus
Supplementary Planning Document on 18 May 2011.
The Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) sets out the Lake District National
Park Authority’s strategic approach over the future use of the campus. It aims to
maximise environmental, economic and social benefits in the interests of the
Lake District National Park and local community. It also provides certainty for
prospective developers as to the Lake District National Park Authority’s
expectations and requirements.
Copies of this Adoption Statement, the Ambleside Campus SPD and its
accompanying Consultation Statement (under Regulation 18 (4)) are available for
public inspection on the Authority’s website at

Any person with sufficient interest in the decision to adopt the SPD may apply to
the High Court for permission to apply for judicial review of that decision.
Any such application must be made promptly and in any event not later than
three months after the date on which the SPD was adopted, i.e. by 24 August
2011.
