Planning Ahead for Class Day 2015
Dear Parker Parents and Guardians,
Class Day, Parker’s annual celebration of the senior class, takes place this year
on Thursday, June 11. Marking the conclusion of the school year, the morning
culminates in an all-school picnic.
Student arrival procedures are a bit different on this special day:
Seniors report to the Main Gym at 8 a.m.
Juniors should check with their grade heads for start times.
Sophomores and freshmen must arrive by 8:30 a.m. for
graderoom.
Students in grades JK–8 arrive at 10 a.m. and go to their
classrooms or advisories.
Representatives from Parker’s Spirit Store will be setting up shop in the Front
Alcove beginning at 9 a.m.
Good Weather Plan
Class Day on the Field, 10:40 a.m.
Weather permitting, Class Day Morning Ex will take place on the field, where all
parents are welcome to join around the perimeter of the assembled student
body.




All families are invited to stay for an all-school picnic following the
Morning Ex at approximately 11:30 a.m.
Students are officially dismissed after the Morning Exercise.
Parents of students in grade JK–5 should meet students on the field and
be sure to check out with their child’s teacher.
Parents of students in grades 6–12 should talk in advance with their
children about their plans following the Morning Ex.
Turf field reminders:




Use a picnic blanket or eat in the courtyard or cafeteria*
No sticky food substances (including candy and gum)
No liquid beverages other than water
No high-heeled shoes
*In order to protect our field, we must work together to prevent food and
beverages from spilling onto the turf. To aid in this effort, please bring a blanket
to lay out on the field so that you may picnic on it. Before you leave, please
shake any crumbs and trash from your picnic blankets into trash cans and not
on the field. For families that do not have or forget to bring a picnic blanket on
this day, the cafeteria and courtyard are good alternative places to enjoy lunch.
Inclement Weather Plan
Class Day in the Main Gym, 10:40 a.m. (only students, teachers and 12th
grade parents)
In case of inclement weather, an email will be sent to all parents as early as
possible explaining the following:
Unfortunately, our whole community of parents and children will not fit into the
Main Gym, our largest interior space. Due to poor weather, only students,
teachers and 12th grade parents will be able to attend the Class Day Morning
Ex.

All students are officially dismissed after the Morning Exercise at
approximately 11:30 a.m.

Parents of students in grades JK–5 should arrive at the school at 11:30
a.m. and pick up children from their classrooms.

Parents of students in grades 6–12 may pick up beginning at 11:30 a.m.
and should talk in advance with their children about their plans following

the Morning Ex.
All families are welcome to stay for an indoor picnic in the cafeteria, 3rd
floor gallery or other available space.
