5 th Grade Classroom Procedures
Starting the day:
Go straight to breakfast
After returning from breakfast, put things away and get materials ready for day
Start morning seat work
Classroom materials:
Planners
Soft-sided pencil box with:
Pencil
Dry erase marker
Color markers
Glue stick
No individual pencil sharpeners in classrooms
Paper
Fan folder
Backpacks and book bags stay in homeroom, they do not stay with student as they change classes.
Grading:
100-90-----A
89-80------B
79-70------C
69-60------D
59-below—F
Homework:
Used as reinforcement of classroom lesson
Homework not turned in will result in loss of reward points, not loss
of grade
Unfinished Classwork
This is work started in class with sufficient time to finish. Students that do not finish have the opportunity to finish at home to be prepared for next day’s lesson. This work not turned in the next day can result in a “0” for a grade.
Movement Within in Classroom
As needed, except when teacher is instructing
When teacher is instructing, no one is to be out of seat
Movement out of the Classroom
When moving as a group in hallway, except when changing classes), student will walk single file, hands behind back,
and no talking.

Follow school procedures
Parental Involvement
Our main communication with parents is the student planner.
Students fill it out daily. Parents are required to sign it nightly.
Teachers will check it daily.
Student Clubs
Students may not form student clubs (informal clubs that are not teacher directed) during the school day. Ex: at lunch, on the playground, etc.)
