Everyday
I hear the alarm clock
I get up
I stretch
I turn off the alarm clock
I have a shower
I get dressed
I eat my breakfast
I wash my teeth
I pack my bag
I make my lunch
I brush my hair
I check that I have my keys
I say goodbye
I leave the house
This is a list of things that people do every day. It is called a ROUTINE.
There is nothing special about a routine, it is just something that we follow every
day. Routines are very ordinary.
See if you can write your ordinary
routine!
Start like this : Everyday I ...
Everyday I
Turn to the person beside you.
Do your have the same routine?
Every day is not a routine day.
The following is not a routine day, it looks nearly the same as an ordinary day but
there is a big difference.
What differences can you see between this day and the usual everyday routine?
I hear the alarm clock
I get up
I run and look for the postman
I turn off the alarm clock
I have a shower
I get dressed
I eat my special birthday breakfast with my family
I open my family birthday presents
I wash my teeth
I pack my bag
I make my lunch
I brush my hair
I check that I have my keys
I say goodbye
I thank my family for my presents
I leave the house
I look forward to my birthday party
Ordinary things happen during this day. But this day is a special day. It is a special
time.
Why do we celebrate our birthday and consider it to be a special time?
Make a list of special actions that
might happen on your birthday
Make a list of other special times and
special actions that happen at special
times
These special actions at special times are called SIGNIFICANT RITUALS
