About DSTC Course
The Definitive Surgical Trauma Care Course (DSTC) course is developed under the auspices of the International
Association for Trauma Surgery and Intensive Care (IATSIC). It is currently the most advanced trauma course
available internationally.
The DSTC is designed to teach qualified surgeons and advanced surgical trainees strategic thinking and decisionmaking in the management of the severely injured patients and provide them with practical surgical skills to manage
major organ injuries. It is an intensive 2-day course comprising lectures, interactive case discussions and animal
laboratory based surgical skills training. It boasts a high faculty to participant ratio with the faculty consisting of
experienced trauma trained surgeons. The course has since been established worldwide in Europe, USA, Australia,
Asia and South Africa.
The DSTC course is only available to qualified surgeons and surgical trainees in their final 2 years of advanced
training.

Fee includes program material (DVD & Manual), lunch, morning and coffee breaks, transport to laboratory and dinner
with the faculty on the first day of the course. Written cancellation will be accepted up to four (4) weeks prior to the
course with 80% of the fee being reimbursed.
