Christmas Lunches
A letter explaining the arrangements for this year’s School Christmas lunch has been sent home – please
contact the office if you have not had one. All Christmas lunches must be ordered by Wednesday 2nd Dec.
Christmas Performances
Classes are busy learning songs and practising performances for the Christmas shows. Here a few
reminders for parents…
*Remaining Xmas show tickets to go on sale from the office on Tuesday
* KS2 £1 contribution towards costumes now due in
*No photography or recording is allowed during performances – but this year, class photos of the children
in their costumes will be available for parents to order
*For the 4pm performances all children will remain in school until the performance time and must be
collected at the end (those going to after-school club will be collected by staff). For the 6pm KS2
performance children must return to school for 5:30pm and be collected at the end.
KS1 Bike It Bear
Kip the Bear (named by Evie Jones) has now been joined by two other bears at Greatfield Park meaning
that each infant class has their own bear. Kip will remain in the Reception class. Finlay Bear (named by
James Guppy) will belong in Year 1, while Year 2 have Poppy Bear (named by Yazmin Didcote and Niamh
Pickersgill). Staff will be looking out for children who either bike, scoot or walk to school in the morning
and each Monday and Friday someone in each class will be able to take their bear home for a few days and
complete the bear diary with pictures, writing and photographs showing the adventure they have had.
KS2 Golden Lock
This week our Key Stage 2 children had an assembly with Charlotte from Sustrans about cycling safety.
Every Monday and Friday, a golden lock will be placed onto a bike or scooter parked at school. When that
child finds the golden lock at break or lunch time they will need to come and get the key from Mrs
Bateman or Mrs Kay to unlock their bike / scooter and claim a prize.
Staff News
Mrs Hill will be returning to work after the Christmas holidays, following her period of maternity leave. We
are also pleased to announce that Mrs Kay will remain as the permanent full-time Y5 class teacher, enabling
Mrs Kydd to continue teaching across the school (covering PPA) and fulfilling leadership roles.
