BLÁS INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL FOR
TRADITIONAL IRISH MUSIC AND DANCE
at the Irish World Music Centre, University of Limerick

Summer School Dates: 23rd June – 4th July 2014
Conditions of the Scheme:
 North Tipperary County Council is offering a bursary to attend this year’s summer school at the University of
Limerick. The value of the bursary covers tuition (includes lectures, workshops, assessment and attendance
at all concerts). The purpose of this bursary is to support artist’s professional development. Travel
arrangements and accommodation (if required) are the responsibility of the applicant.
 Applicants must be resident in the North Tipperary administrative area.
 Applicants must have achieved intermediate level of proficiency in their chosen area at a minimum e.g.
(music/song/dance)
 Payment of the bursary will be made directly to the Blás International Summer School of Irish Traditional
Music and Dance.
 Applicants must be age 16 years + (by 1 June 2014) (if under 18 years, written permission of
parent/guardian to attend must be submitted at application stage)

 A CV/Resume of traditional arts related achievements to date must be enclosed with
application
 A sample of work must be enclosed e.g. recordings or other appropriate material. Work will
be returned if requested – please supply a S.A.E.
 An independent selection committee will assess applications for this bursary. Their decision
will be final.
If awarded this bursary I commit to fully attend the Blas International Summer School of
Traditional Irish Music and Dance for the whole duration of the course and to provide a short
written report to the Arts Office on completion.
