The AER addresses the complex reporting information required by federal and state laws. The school’s report contains information about student assessment, accountability and teacher quality. If you have any questions about the AER, please contact Elizabeth Kreiner for assistance. The AER is available for you to review electronically by visiting the following web site www.grattanacademy.com or you may review a copy in the principal’s office at your child’s school. The state has identified some schools with the status of Reward, Focus or Priority. A Reward school is one that is outperforming other schools in achievement, growth, or is performing better than other schools with a similar student population. A Focus school is one that has a large achievement gap in 30% of its student achievement scores. A Priority school is one whose achievement and growth is in the lowest 5% of all schools in the state. Our school has not been given one of these labels < INSERT A PARAGRAPH DESCRIBING THE KEY CHALLENGES FOR THE SCHOOL REFERRING TO DATA IN THE AER REPORT, AND DESCRIBING THE KEY INITIATIVES BEING UNDERTAKEN IN THE SCHOOL TO ACCELERATE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND CLOSE PERSISTENT GAPS IN ACHEIVEMENT.> As we begin the new school year, the staff at the Elementary will continue to research and implement new programs and methods to improve student performance, as well as expand the programs that have been successful. The Academy will continue to address English Language Arts and Mathematics achievement through the analysis of test data generated through NWEA in professional development. The Academy has fully implemented the Common Core Standards and will examine implementation and accountability standards. State law requires that we also report additional information on the following: Grattan Academy Elementary School 12047 Old Belding Road, Belding, MI 48809 Tel: (616) 691-8999, Fax: (616) 691-9857 Report On Assigning pupils to our school Status of our 3-5 Year School Improvement Plan Description of Specialized Schools www.grattanacademy.com Grattan Academy Middle/High School 9481 Jordan Road, Greenville, MI 48838 Tel: (616) 754-9360, Fax: (616) 754-9363 2011-2012 Open Enrollment (lottery IF necessary) Revised/updated; approved by Board of Directors Grattan Academy does not have Specialized Schools -Available in our school office 2012-2013 Open Enrollment (lottery IF necessary) Revised/updated; approved by Board of Directors Grattan Academy does not have Specialized Schools -Available in our school office -Based on Common Core Standards -Based on Common Core Standards -Implemented using Saginaw Valley State University Resources and Pacing Guides -Implemented using Saginaw Valley State University Resources and Pacing Guides Local Achievement Test Results using End of YearTeacher Made assessments -Available in Teacher files and retained for 12 months -Available in Teacher files and retained for 12 months Parent Teacher Conference Attendance 94% 97% Core Curriculum On behalf of the Board of Directors and administration at Grattan Academy I would like to congratulate the students, parents and staff for all the hard work.
