Dear Parents and Community Members:
We are pleased to present you with the Annual Education Report (AER) which
provides key information on the 2012-2013 educational progress for the
Grattan Academy Elementary. The AER addresses the complex reporting
information required by federal and state laws. The school’s report contains
information about student assessment, accountability and teacher quality. If
you have any questions about the AER, please contact Elizabeth Kreiner for
assistance.
The AER is available for you to review electronically by visiting the following
web site www.grattanacademy.com or you may review a copy in the
principal’s office at your child’s school.
The state has identified some schools with the status of Reward, Focus or
Priority. A Reward school is one that is outperforming other schools in
achievement, growth, or is performing better than other schools with a
similar student population. A Focus school is one that has a large
achievement gap in 30% of its student achievement scores. A Priority school
is one whose achievement and growth is in the lowest 5% of all schools in
the state.
Our school has not been given one of these labels
< INSERT A PARAGRAPH DESCRIBING THE KEY CHALLENGES FOR THE
SCHOOL REFERRING TO DATA IN THE AER REPORT, AND DESCRIBING THE
KEY INITIATIVES BEING UNDERTAKEN IN THE SCHOOL TO ACCELERATE
STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT AND CLOSE PERSISTENT GAPS IN ACHEIVEMENT.>
As we begin the new school year, the staff at the Elementary will continue to
research and implement new programs and methods to improve student
performance, as well as expand the programs that have been successful.
The Academy will continue to address English Language Arts and
Mathematics achievement through the analysis of test data generated
through NWEA in professional development. The Academy has fully
implemented the Common Core Standards and will examine implementation
and accountability standards.
State law requires that we also report additional information on the

On behalf of the Board of Directors and administration at Grattan Academy I
would like to congratulate the students, parents and staff for all the hard work. I
feel confident that with the procedures the staff has put in place, the Academy
will surpass the state expectations for the upcoming year. We realize that
meeting the state expectations is a significant achievement but is only a
minimum standard. We will continue to improve and excel, as we work together
to take Grattan Academy to even higher levels of achievement.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Kreiner
