AUTUMN TERM 2015 Meet The Teacher Meetings Monday 14th September - 3.30pm to 3.50pm - Y1 (Year 2 to have the children in their class) Monday 14th September – 3.50pm to 4.10pm – Y2 (Year 1 to have the children in their class) Tuesday 15th September - 3.30pm to 3.50pm – Y3 (Year 4 to have the children in their class) Monday 15th September – 3.50pm to 4.10pm – Y4 (Year 3 to have the children in their class) Wednesday 16th September - 3.30pm to 3.50pm – Y5 (Year 6 to have the children in their class) Wednesday 16th September – 3.50pm to 4.10pm – Y6 (Year 5 to have the children in their class) NB (Nursery and Reception had theirs in July) What are To To To To To To To To these Meet the Teacher meetings for? meet your child’s new teacher meet other parents from your child’s class see your child’s classroom share the timetable and find out about your child’s school day be given key routines for the week (E.g. PE, Homework, Reading) find about what your child will be learning about learn about trips and visits that are planned for the year ask questions about how you can help your child at home Autumn Parent’s Evening Tuesday 24th November at 3.45 – 6.00 p.m. OR Thursday 26th November 2015 3.45 – 6.00 p.m. We offer two after school sessions with 10 minute individual appointments. We do offer appointments at other times if Parents/Carers can’t make the evenings we have set aside. What are Parent Evenings for? To meet your child’s new teacher and discuss how your child has settled into their new year group To discuss your child’s progress and their next steps for learning To share some of your child’s work to show how they are developing To discuss if your child is still on track by sharing our assessments To explain the intervention or booster groups your child may be in For you to raise anything you wish to discuss about your child SPRING TERM 2016 Spring Parents’ Evening ( as above) March (Date TBC with new HT) at 3.45 – 6.00 p.m. OR March (Date TBC with new HT) at 3.45 – 6.00 p.m. SUMMER TERM 2016 Summer Parent Evening- End of Year Reports July 2016 ( Date TBC with new HT) at 3.45 – 6.00 p.m. OR July 2016 (Date TBC with new HT) at 3.45 – 6.00 p.m. You will receive a written report covering all the things you will have discussed over the year. Reports will be sent home to those who cannot make it into school. Welcome Wednesdays Each term a class will invite their parents in to join in/observe their child learning. This gives you an opportunity to see your child in action, see your class teacher in action and look at the work they have displayed in the class and along the corridors These sessions are 9-10am ( Timetable separate and on website or ask your child’s class teacher) Friday Assembly Each term a class will invite their parents to watch their assembly. This gives you a chance to see what your child has been learning about and watch them perform to an audience! Other Events Throughout the year there are many school and church events and trips out which you will be invited to attend so that you can keep up to date with what your child is learning. Don’t forget to visit our website too at www.stpetersschool.co.uk Whenever there is a Parent Evening the Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher/SENCO are also available to talk to parents. These are not the only times you can see a senior leader. You can make an appointment at any time of the school year. Pop into the Office to see if someone is available or make an appointment. If you need to speak to a senior member of staff urgently, you will always be contacted as soon as possible. These are not the only times you are able to meet with teachers. You can always catch a teacher at the end or beginning of the day in the playground – they will either be able to help you there and then, or make an appointment for another time.
