FIRST TERM
LITERATURE:
Suggestions:"My Secrets World Of Idioms"-James Thurber or
Eveline James Joyce.-(5 pointers need 3 short stories whereas 4 pointers
need 2 short stories.The teacher needs to test the pupils as it is 20% of
the school Magen grade.
Note:Teachers can choose other pieces they prefer from the literature
programme.Any change should be notified.
Vocabulary:should be systematically selected and practiced in context.
Communicating skills will be emphasized.
*POETRY-3 POEMS OF THE TEACHER’S CHOICE
** Communicating skills could be practiced and improved in
context.Especially important in creating an authentically communicative
atmosphere in the classroom is the use of English for teacher language
of the subject matter studied.Pupils will learn by heart stereotyped
phrases .Use of sentence connectors is essential.

It is recommended to work according to topics.the teacher should
remember that the Bagrut exam has 3 unseens.(one in each module)
COMPOSITIONS-Pupils should work on guided writing.They should
be introduced to different types of compositions such as descrptive
composition, informal letters( only for 4 pointers),expressing opinion
and so on.
