SECTION A – PLANNING
Land Adjoining 12 Tennyson Avenue – It was noted that following
resubmission, planning permission had been granted.
Gallagher Estates Reserved Matters – The Chair advised that the Planning
Officer has put forward Gallagher’s application no 13/1024 for approval with
conditions. There will be a site visit by members of the Planning Committee
and Planning Officers on the 26th March, an invitation to attend has been Chair
extended to the Community Council.

SECTION B - FINANCE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT
Councillor Parry signed his Acceptance of Office and Code of Conduct.

SECTION C – LEISURE AND AMENITIES
Car Park for Village Hall – The Chair reported that he was expecting a price
from D & M Landscapes very shortly.

Bench Opposite Dockwell Terrace – ongoing.
Website – further advertising and feedback needs to be encouraged to ensure PB
the website is used to its full potential. Cllr Bell to progress.

SECTION D – HIGHWAYS AND UTILITIES
The speed limit sign has still not been moved adjacent to Routes View.
Chair
Concerns were raised regarding speeding in the Village and advice will be
sought from Gwent Police. Also some of the pavements have deteriorated,
which will be reported to Newport City Council.

ANY OTHER BUSINESS
Alan Whiting brought up the subject of the anniversary of the start of the Great
War, the ensuing discussion revealed that a number of Llanwern Men lost their
lives in this conflict and Alan put forward a list of names. The Chair agreed to Chair
liaise with Alan Whiting.
