Students will miss school that day. Students are responsible for all school work due or assigned. Saturday, May 9, 2015: Students will have the day to enjoy rides at Six Flags until 4:45 pm when we meet for the awards ceremony. From there, we will board the bus, pick up instruments and dinner at the hotel and return to Edison at approximately 11:00 PM (Saturday, May 9). Payments: Currently, the trip will cost approximately $275. A deposit of $100 is due on Wednesday, Nov. 19th. Please make checks payable to Edison Middle School. Another payment of $75 will be due on Tuesday, March 10, and a final payment due on Tuesday, April 7 (cost to be determined). The final payment will include one check plus one envelope –with $20-25 cash for lunch at Six Flags. Students who have a Six Flags Season Pass will be able to deduct $30.00 from any of the three payments. Students will have the opportunity to earn money toward their trip through Band/Orch. fundraising. Meals: 5 meals will be eaten on the trip: 1-Lunch on Friday: Students will need to pack a sack lunch and beverage (water ONLY) 2-Dinner on Friday: Pizza party at hotel. 3-Breakfast on Saturday: At hotel. Continental 4-Lunch at Six Flags: Students will be given their envelope with $20-25 for lunch/snacks when they depart from the bus in the morning. 5-Dinner on Saturday: Box dinner, pre-ordered from the hotel. We will be eating on the bus. Chaperones: We are looking for 8-9 parents who would like to volunteer to chaperone the trip for each ensemble. Someone with medical training would be helpful. Please contact us as soon as possible if you are interested. The cost of the trip to a chaperone is $200 plus money for lunch on Saturday. We will need one parent who is willing to drive a large vehicle filled with instruments to St. Louis for each ensemble. You will be paying the $100 instead of the $200 to help defray the cost of gas. Let us know if you are willing to do this. **Chaperones will need to fill out the fingerprint form and return the completed form to Mrs. Carr or Mrs. Wegscheid. The administrative office (next to Whittier) will call you to make an appointment to undergo fingerprinting and a background check. Roommates: Each student will room overnight with 3 or 4 other students in band or orchestra. As we near the date, we will have students select their roommates. Chaperone Groups for Six Flags: 8-10 students will be assigned to an adult chaperone for the duration of the day at Six Flags (approximately 2 rooms of students per chaperone). Students may NOT change groups, once assigned. Tentative Itinerary (will not be clear until we know our performance time) FRIDAY Morning: Depart Edison to Eureka, MO 12:00 pm: Eat sack lunch on bus Afternoon: Arrive at hotel to change for competition Afternoon: Depart for Eureka HS to perform Evening: Return to hotel to eat, swim (if time) 11:00 pm: Room check-in. Doors will be taped after students have checked in to their room. SATURDAY 8:00 - 9:30 am: Wake-up (Shower, pack), breakfast 9:40 am: Meet at bus. 9:50 am: Depart for Six Flags. Students must remain with assigned chaperone throughout the day. Morning/Afternoon: Students must check in at determined meeting location with assigned chaperone. Afternoon: Students will eat lunch on own (they will have their $20-25 from the envelope) . 4:45 pm: Meet for awards ceremony. Depart from Six Flags at the conclusion of the ceremony.
