It gave me great joy to be with you every time we had the opportunity to gather together for celebrations of our faith. When we unite ourselves together with Jesus we have the power of the Holy Spirit, who was sent into the world by Jesus so that together we might build a civilization of love that gives glory to God. Each time I visited with you either together in the gym or in your classroom I was taken aback by the tremendous thirst for God in you that was expresses by your attentiveness, reverence and hospitality. Once again thank you for the great leadership each one of you displays in leading one another to Christ by your love. May the Lord bless you and protect you over the summer months, that we all may return refreshed and renewed to experience a year of great promise and favor in the Lord. Fr. Over the years, our reputation has grown as a quality program that makes a tremendous difference in the lives of the young people who attend. In the summer of 2014, we are again offering two – three week programs. The Camp’s mission is 1) to prevent academic regression which may occur with students over the summer months 2) to further develop social and recreational skills so that the students may experience more success in their home communities and schools 3) to improve the student’s self-esteem through positive academic and social experiences 4) to foster independence and responsibility through meaningful opportunities. Program: The children attend a camp for three weeks. They receive three hours of academic instruction five days a week, from qualified teachers. Other activities during the day are designed to reinforce skills taught. Such activities include: canoeing and swimming which offer chances to improve gross motor skills, arts and crafts promote fine motor skill development and nature watching provides opportunity for the children to practice observation and memory skills. Two camps are offered each summer: Junior Camp (ages 7-11) , and Senior Camp (ages 12-16) The children we take to camp are recommended by teachers and the parents. These children are all average to above average intellectually; however they show discrepancies between potential and achievement and often display deficits in language abilities, such as reading and writing, and often mathematics as well. Children with learning disabilities can learn and succeed in life, with the proper supports and opportunities.
