Matters Discussed As a follow up of an earlier discussion about Kendriya Vidyalaya teachers not reporting for Board corrections or not completing corrections on time, Ms Nain had written to the CBSE regional office in Bhubaneswar and also spoken to the Chairman, Vineet Joshi. Consequently the Board sent a list of people who can be contacted for sorting out problems. Some of the schools had received that list earlier while copies of the same were distributed to those who did not have it. The Principals had also spoken about the delayed dispatch of mark sheets by the Board which inconvenienced many students during the admission procedure in some of the elite colleges of Kolkata. This was intimated to the Board by Ms Nain. The Board’s explanation was that due to the bungling of some mark sheets, those had to be redone. Mrs R Chatterjee suggested the organizing of an All India Sahodaya Meet in Kolkata. Ms Nain opined that since the Complex is not in a state of readiness now, the proposal might be taken up next year. The CBSE affiliation letter is to be attached to the application if a new school desires to join the Sahodaya Complex. A separate fee will also have to be paid for this purpose. The Sahodaya accounts is to be operated jointly by two elected members, Ms Nain opined that the accounts must be audited by professional auditors and then circulated. The elected treasurer will keep the accounts, get the audit done and circulate copies of the same among all the members. Mrs S Mukherjee, the treasurer, informed that at present there is Rs,2,21,000/- in the kitty. Ms M Nain informed the members that she and Mrs R Chatterjee have been appointed as City Co-ordinators for collecting evidence from all the schools. Ms M Nain and Mrs R Chatterjee will appoint subject moderators from all the CBSE schools to execute the task assigned to them. Principals will be requested to suggest names of trustworthy and capable teachers for this purpose. The moderators along with Class III and Class IV staff will be paid by the Board for the execution of this task. The Principals were requested to extend their co-operation and spare teachers wherever required for this job. Ms S Bose initiated a discussion on the problem solving questions suggested by the Board and the inclusion of the PSA marks in FA4. The matter was clarified by Mrs R Chatterjee, who made the point that FA4 can be done away with and replaced with PSA. In that case, all the subjects will be awarded the same grade (except vernacular). Ms A Ghose sought a clarification on the Board circular regarding the 6th subject with effect from next year. Pending any coherent explanation, clarification would be sought from the Board. Ms P Ghosh pointed out that the Board often fails to clear the payment of all the examiners. Ms M Nain advised her to send repeated reminders in order to get the complete payment. She further added that the Desk Officer at Bhubaneswar may be contacted for the same. It was decided that a Sahodaya Sports Meet for students of Classes VI, VII and VIII will be held on Friday 11th January 2013 on the premises of Aditya Academy. Ms M Bhagat informed the members that the name of Mahadevi Birla Girls Higher Secondary School has been changed to Mahadevi Birla World Academy with effect from 1st September 2012.
