ONE TO ONE TUITION
Exemplar Letter to Parents
Dear Parents,
Further to our previous conversation, I am writing to confirm that Katie has been selected for ten
hours of One To One tuition to support her progress in mathematics.
This tuition will take place outside of school hours and will be funded (at a cost of over £350)
through the government's 'One To One' initiative. All teaching will be carried out by a qualified
tutor (with 'qualified teacher' status). It is hoped that with the help of this intensive support your
child will be able to accelerate her progress in this subject.
The tutor working with Katie is Mr. Gibson. If, for any reason, Katie is unable to attend the
session it is vital that you contact the school in plenty of time so that alternative arrangements
can be made as soon as possible and so that nobody's time is wasted. Below are the dates and
times that have been arranged with your child's One To One tutor.

Enclosed is a copy of Katie's Individual Tuition Plan which gives more information on the aspects
of Mathematics which she will be covering during the sessions. Please could you sign a copy of
the plan and return the copy of the plan to the school as soon as possible.
To help keep you informed of Katie's progress, she and her tutor will write in her Passport to
Success at the end of each session. We would be grateful if you could also add your views on the
progress she is making.
