VISA APPLICATION CHECKLIST

Applications are to be lodged at the New Zealand Visitor Application Centre (VAC) in Singapore.
Information on the VAC can be found on www.vfsglobal.com/newzealand/singapore.
Immigration New Zealand reserves the right to request additional information in the course of
assessing an application and to retain information and documents on file. If you provide false or
misleading information your application may be declined.
To avoid delay in application assessment, please provide all documents required. Non-English
documents must be translated to English by a translation company and submit both
the Non-English and English translated documents. Self-translations will not be
accepted.
If providing original documents with your application please ensure they are accompanied by a
standard photocopy.

Application Notes:

Partners of people granted work visas allowing a stay in New Zealand of more
than six months may apply for a work visa.

If partner applies for a work visa, dependent child will apply for visitor or student
visa in their own right.
2. Photograph

Two identical passport sized photo (must be less than 6 months old) of
each person included in the application.
3. Fees

All fees are payable in Singapore Dollars and NON-REFUNDABLE.


If you are paying by Visa or Mastercard credit card, please complete the
VAC Credit Card Authorisation form for payment of visa fee, VAC service
fee and return courier fee. The form can be downloaded from
www.vfsglobal.com/newzealand/singapore or
www.immigration.govt.nz/singapore
Payment of courier fee is not required if passport is self-collected at the VAC.
4. Identity Documents

Original current passport or a certified clear copy of the passport bio-data
page

Applicants living outside their home country, submit evidence of
residence status for the country currently living in, such as PR,
employment pass, work permit, dependant pass, long-term visit pass or
student pass
5. Health Requirements
Intended stay in New Zealand is more than 6 months but less than 12 months
submit

Chest X-ray Certificate (INZ 1096)

General Medical Certificate (INZ 1007)

Dependent child applying together with you must provide the same medical
requirements as you.
Health Notes:

The medical certificates must be less than 3 months old at the time your
application is submitted and completed by an INZ panel doctor. Refer to our
Panel Doctor list.

DO NOT SUBMIT the chest x-ray film or CD if x-ray result is normal.

Children under 11 years of age and pregnant women are not required to submit a
chest x-ray.

Your medical & chest X-ray certificates are valid for 36 months (based on the
certificate’s date of issue) when they are accepted by INZ. You do not need to
submit a new one unless you have been advised otherwise.

You must submit a NEW Chest X-ray certificate if you intend to stay in New
Zealand for more than 6 months and you have spent the last 6 consecutive
months in a country that is not a low-incidence country for tuberculosis since
departing New Zealand.
6.
Character Requirements
Original police certificates are required if you are aged 17 years and above
intending to stay in New Zealand for 24 months or longer:

From your country of citizenship, and

Any country in which you have lived for 5 years or more since the age
of 17 years.

Character Note:


Once submitted, they are valid for 24 months (based on the certificate’s date of
issue).
7.
Evidence of funds

A letter of financial support is required from the partner or an
organisation sponsoring the application.
Visitor visa application (Partner and/or Child) of student visa holder
 Funds of NZ$1,000 per person per month or NZ$400 per person per
month and evidence of accommodation. Please provide letter from the
bank or bank statements for the last 3 months in your name.
Work visa application (Partner) of student visa holder
 Funds of NZ$4,200. Please provide a letter from the bank or the latest
bank statement from yourself or your sponsor.
Dependent child Student visa application (domestic student status)
 Funds of NZ$15,000 per person per year. Please provide letter from the
bank or bank statements from parents for the last 3 months

Supporting Documents For Partner Application

A properly completed and signed original Form for Partners Supporting
Partnership-Based Temporary Entry Applications (INZ 1146)

Certified copies of your marriage certificate and dependent children’s
birth certificates.

A written statement outlining the history of your relationship.

Evidence that you are living in a genuine and stable partnership – such as

photographs of you and your partner together

documents indicating public recognition of the marriage or
partnership

joint bank accounts, joint ownership of assets

evidence of contact (email, phone contacts, etc)

air tickets showing holidays together

any other evidence to support that the relationship is genuine and
stable and will be maintained on a long term and exclusive basis.
The definition of ‘living together’ does not include:

time spent in each other’s homes while still maintaining individual
residences; or

shared accommodation during holidays together; or

flatmate arrangements.

Supporting Documents For Dependent Child applying for visitor visa in
their own rights

Certified copy of the child’s birth certificate.
Dependent children of Essential Skills work visa holder

Evidence of the salary or wages earned by your parent(s). Evidence
includes original or certified copies of a job offer with salary or wages
equal to or higher than the minimum income threshold of
NZ$35,294.60 gross per annum.
Dependent children of Religious work visa holders
Please provide either of the following

Evidence of the salary or wages earned by your parent(s). Evidence
includes original or certified copies of a job offer with salary or wages
equal to or higher than the minimum income threshold of
NZ$35,294.60 gross per annum.

Religious organisation sponsoring parent(s) agrees to sponsor (refer
to Sponsorship form for religious workers – INZ1190).
