Morning drop off and afternoon pick up are a small window of time when
our parking lot can be very busy! We realize everyone is in a hurry but
traffic and safety issues arise when traffic does not flow smoothly.
Whenever possible, please avoid entering our parking lot during peak
times. If you must enter our parking lot, here are a few IMPORTANT
reminders:
 Daycare vehicles use the lane directly in front of the school and all
other traffic funnel through the middle lane.
The middle lane is
STRICTLY for DRIVE THRU drop off and pick up ONLY. DO NOT LEAVE
YOUR VEHICLE UNATTENDED.
 If you are stopped in the middle lane, you must REMAIN WITH YOUR
VEHICLE at all times. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE UNATTENDED.
Tuesday, Feb 24th CPF Film Festival
 DO NOT DOUBLE (or TRIPLE park) or impede the flow of traffic. If your
child is not outside and waiting you MUST circle through the lot again

rather than park.
 AS INDICATED BY THE YELLOW LINE, THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NO
STOPPING ON 123 AVE. IN FRONT OF THE SCHOOL.
 Whenever possible AVOID TURNING LEFT OUT OF THE PARKING LOT
DURING PEAK TIMES. By turning right and circling around the area the
traffic flows much quicker.
 DO NOT idle your vehicles while waiting for your
child. Be COURTEOUS and turn off your vehicle.
 ALWAYS RESPECT our neighbours AND their property.
Legally vehicles CANNOT BE PARKED within 3 feet of a
driveway or you can be ticketed or towed.
 ALWAYS set good examples and keep calm, behave respectfully,

Brrrr…..
Before sending your child to school please consider the weather conditions. It can either be very muddy or
very cold!! Students are expected to go outside at recess and lunch unless the weather is too
extreme or it is raining heavily.
We are noticing many children outside who are not wearing proper clothing. Please ensure
your child comes to school with a warm jacket, a toque or hat and mittens. A hoodie is not
sufficient when the weather is this cold.
PLEASE ENCOURAGE YOUR CHILD TO WEAR PINK TO SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY,
FEB. 25TH AND BE A PART OF THE CAUSE.
TO SNOWBOARDERS/SKIERS
Gr. 6/7 students going to Whistler on THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 26TH and
FRIDAY, MARCH 27TH are reminded to ARRIVE AT THE SCHOOL BY 5:45
A.M. at the latest. The bus will leave PROMPTLY at 6 a.m.
Students should bring an extra t-shirt, additional pair of socks and a bottle of
water.
Students will return to the school between 5:30 - 6 p.m. depending on traffic. Please pick up your
child from the school promptly upon arrival.
Message from Student council – bake sale!
Student Council members will be Baking for Change by hosting a bake sale for the school on Wednesday
February 25. Student council members will be donating baked goods and baking special WE day sugar
cookies to sell before recess and lunch that day. Large baked goods and the specialty cookies will be
sold for $2 and all other baked goods will be $1 each. We will also have a selection of gluten free and
nut free goods for sale in a separate location for those students who prefer. We will start by calling
primary students down before recess and then intermediate students will be called down before lunch.
All money raised from this event will go towards the school we are planning to build for Haiti.

CPF FRENCH FILM FESTIVAL
Canadian Parent for French Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Chapter is pleased to
present French Film Festival 2015. The date is Tuesday, February 24th. The location
is the Maple Ridge ACT.
We are proud to have our students participate in this CPF film presentation and are
excited to present the following films:
For the intermediate students: The Adventures of Tintin
For the Primary students: A Cat in Paris
The classes will be attending the CPF French Film Festival on TUESDAY, FEBRUARY
24, 2015. This year’s presentation will be at The ACT Theatre in Maple Ridge
(located at 11944 Haney Place, Maple Ridge).
The intermediate classes will be leaving the school promptly at 9:00 a.m. The
expected return time to the school is approximately 11:00 a.m.
The primary classes will be leaving the school promptly at 11:45 a.m. The
expected return time to the school is approximately 1:45 p.m.
CPF is not including the Kindergarten classes. We decided that the film would be too long
and difficult for Kindergarten students to understand. Once we are finished with the
dvd’s at the Act CPF will send a copy of the primary film to each of the three primary
schools. Then kindergarten teachers can choose if they want to present the film in their
classes.
No Fees
We are very pleased to offer this event free of charge to students and teachers. This
year our Chapter has worked hard to raise funds to cover the costs of this event. The
Chapter is also able to cover the cost of buses for students from Laityview Elementary
and Pitt Meadows Elementary.
