The current areas of interest within the Pediatric Urology department include the
role of insulin-3 on testicular descent and testicular torsion, the role of eph-ephrin
signaling in hypospadias and ano-rectal malformations, and the genetic basis of
urinary anomalies. The lab is involved in multiple collaborative efforts within the UT
Southwestern system, home to more Nobel Laureates than any other US institution.
The division is currently involved in a number of prospective randomized as well as
cohort studies investigating a wide range of clinical areas, from stone formation to
voiding dysfunction.
