Department of Psychology
Take a scientific approach to studying the complexity and variety of human behavior and
development, and gain research skills you can use throughout your career.
Undergraduate and graduate programs in psychology give you solid knowledge in the discipline
and help you develop clear thinking and effective communication skills. You will better
understand the relationship between theories, concepts and problem-oriented strategies and how
to apply your knowledge in a variety of cultural contexts. In addition, you will explore
quantitative techniques and research methodology as well as critical, timely topics and emerging
issues in psychology.
Your coursework both enhances your life and prepares you to serve societal needs in a variety of
applied fields. Continue your education, acquire training in special education and general
education or apply your new skills in clinical services or a host of careers in business, medicine,
law and more. Throughout your program, our faculty is committed to your effective instruction,
personal and professional growth, and involvement in research and community service.
Honors Thesis
Gain in-depth knowledge of research in psychology through advanced classes in research
methods and data analysis. Undergraduate students can apply to complete an honors thesis under
the supervision of a professor in the department.
