High-end (600dpi/Ledger) and low-end (300dpi/Letter-Legal) products have been fairly fast movers compared to the mid-range 400dpi products which have always lagged behind. As you can see in the middle row, the main reason for lower demand is that customers perceived these products to offer less value relative to the competition. Manual input parameters Step 1: Enter a parameter using the Print Quantity keys Manual input parameters H1: Ink color setting H2: Print density adjustment (ink) H3: TEST Printing print density adjustment (ink)* H4: Master-making density setting H5: Print density adjustment (master)* H6: Test Printing print density adjustment (master)* Step 2: Press the start key to complete entry Step 3: When all data necessary is input, the Print Quantity Display returns to normal and is available for standard operations. The “i” Indicator fails to light and an “H” is shown in the Print Quantity display”. If the “i” indicator is not lit, it means the printer has failed to acquire information from the supplies. If the RISO machine still fails to acquire information when the supplies are replaced, parameters specified by the “H” numbers displayed must be entered manually. All supplies require an RF-Tag based on ISO 15693 Standard in order for the RZ to be operational. If any of the following operations are performed after manual input of the parameters, the information disappears and must be input again. 1.Switching the power On and Off again 2.Pressing the wake up key after the printer has gone into Sleep mode. The RISO “i”QualityTM System will allow us to offer a unique solution that produces superior and consistent image quality for our customers. This technology will increase customer satisfaction, customer loyalty, and reduce servicing of equipment. RISO RZ Product Launch Training Certification Questions and Responses Digital e600 dpi 1. Explain e600 dpi technology and compare to 600 dpi? The image from an original is scanned into pixels or dots. A true 600 dpi system scans 600 dots per inch and prints one dot for every dot scanned. A 300 dpi system scans 300 dots per inch and prints one dot for every dot scanned. An e-600 dpi system scans at 300 dots per inch, then software uses algorithms to enhance the printing to approach the quality of 600 dpi without the need for the more expensive scanner. This technology is called emulated 600 dpi because it’s not actual dot for dot scanning and printing. A true 600 dpi system will still produce the best quality. 2. Explain the benefit of e600 dpi for the following groups? Customer - The customer benefits from e600 technology because they can achieve high end print quality in a mid range product without paying more for this feature. Dealer - The dealer and dealer reps will benefit from e600 technology because it will create more interest and opportunities for our product in the low-mid range market segments. RISO - RISO benefits from e600 technology because it creates more demand for our products in the low-mid range market segment and we can deliver this capability at an attractive price. This will also bring more people into the market which leads to more supply sales. 3. Explain when you would offer 600dpi over e600dpi and why? True 600 dpi still represents the best image quality available. Our 600dpi technology is the right solution for application driven customers where print quality is of prime importance. There are three specific vertical markets that are prime for our new product. Religion because of A3 and Image Quality. Education, because we now offer Flat Bed Scanning in an affordable product. And thirdly, Non-Profit because this market will now be able to more easily justify bringing their work in-house rather than sending it outside to a printer. The last part of our RZ Sales Strategy is to create opportunities for RP product in the future. The RZ Placements will be beneficial in seeding our base for potential RP upgrades. For customers where print quality is of prime importance, the RP is still the product of choice. In these situations, lead with the RP and offer the RZ as an alternative. Remember: Printer-Duplicators are an application based sale which require a thorough needs analysis. Before we begin our demonstration, I would like to present a brief overview of our company and product line, as well as the value and benefits you can expect to receive from Dealer Name and RISO. Optional (Insert dealer overview) As a current customer, you know that RISO is a world leader in Document Management Solutions. With these Solutions, you can maximize the impact of your communications, enhance your productivity, and control your document management costs. Since 1946, RISO has pioneered the science of duplicating. Today, with nearly $1 billion in annual sales worldwide, their products are sold in over 150 countries. RISO’s growth results from a reputation for developing innovative printing systems with unique capabilities. These capabilities outperform those of their competitors and provide greater value to you, which is why we proudly choose to represent their product line. In fact, over the last 20 years, nearly every significant improvement to this technology has been first introduced by RISO. Their commitment to R&D has yielded so many innovations that they have been awarded over 1800 patents! As a result, RISO’s share of the Printer-Duplicator market is larger than the market share all of their competitors combined! And they’ve done it again. Part of their award winning customer service includes responding to customer feedback. I’m so excited to show you their newest line, the RZ Printer-Duplicator, which resulted from customer response, marketplace demand, and pure R&D innovation. You’re currently working with a (insert model number). So you already know the three primary areas in which this technology can improve your document management system: Productivity, Versatility, and Cost Containment. You know it’s fast, you know you can print on virtually any paper size or weight, and you know you can control your costs compared to other technologies or outsourcing. Those are all basic benefits true of every RISO PrinterDuplicator. So what’s new? Introducing the RZxxx. At first glance, it looks quite similar to other RISO Printer-Duplicators, and as I mentioned, in many ways it is. It’s what’s on the inside that counts. This is the smartest duplicator on the market today. RISO has combined simplicity with such advanced technology that it’s even easier to use while accomplishing more than ever. It employs the “i”QualityTM system, which I think is the most exciting enhancement. But before I get further into that, let me show you what I mean about the ease of use. RISO RZ Product Launch Training Upgrade Demo Script cont’d You’ll notice there’s no lever to open the top of the machine. That’s because everything you need to get to is now accessible right from the front door. Reloading ink is as easy as ever. Now you simply insert the tube, twist, and you’re ready to go. There’s even a handy spot to store your ink cap. And how about the masters? With the front-loading master making unit, it’s all right here, too. And no more master flanges, which is not only more convenient for you, but even more environmentally friendly. The print cylinders are also smaller and lighter, making color changes a breeze. Another feature that enhances the user-friendliness is the progress arrow on the panel. It gives a clear indication of the progress of each master-making or printing operation. There have always been monitoring capabilities when printing from the computer, but now you’ll always know where you are in the process, even when you’re standing in front of the RZ. I’m almost to the part about the RISO “i”QualityTM System. But there are still a few more exciting features I want to cover. First, the adjustable range of print position has actually been increased from 10mm to 15mm in either direction. This gives you even more control over the vertical print position to achieve even tighter output of your document. Next is the new Ink Save Mode. By selecting this mode, you can lower your running costs even further by saving up to 30% on ink usage because the master is processed to print in a lower density. Ecological and even more economical printing at the touch of a button. Another new feature is the Pencil mode. No more problems with those faint originals. You can clearly print from originals with pencil-written content. Pretty impressive, but honestly, every series RISO launches has improved features. So far I’ve only hinted about the really revolutionary enhancements: the e600 dpi(RZ 310/390 only) and the RISO “i”QualityTM system. These are two distinct technology advancements only available from RISO. First, the e600dpi brings unprecedented print quality to a truly affordable printer. That’s right, I said 600, and the e stands for emulated. This means higher resolution for better quality images at an affordable price. The lines are smoother, photos and gradations are more natural, and even the smallest typeface is clear and legible. Let’s look at some of that output now. RISO RZ Product Launch Training Upgrade Demo Script cont’d But it’s not just the e600 dpi producing that kind of quality. It’s also combined with the cutting edge technology called the RISO “i”QualityTM System. This is a revolutionary new way to ensure the very best performance possible from your RISO printer, automatically. What does that mean? The system allows two-way communication between the printer and its supplies – ink and masters – via tiny integrated RF-tags embedded in the ink bottle and master roll. The printer receives important information about the supplies from that RF-tag, such as ink viscosity, which can vary, and how many masters are left on the roll, which can affect the quality of output. Based on those characteristics and other information it receives, the printer automatically adjusts the way it operates and creates the master to ensure optimum quality from the first print to the last. This communication also allows for the prevention of misinsertion of the ink bottle. Not only is it more user-friendly, it assures reliable and consistent color reproduction. This is a truly unique system that provides a host of important benefits that include assurance of optimum print quality, prevention of operator error for supplies, warning of shortage in remaining volume, and minimal paper waste, ultimately making your printing operations smoother and more efficient. You might assume that all of this must make it a lot more expensive than your current RISO. Not at all. Remember I mentioned customer feedback and marketplace demand? RISO responded by making the RZ series truly affordable. As always, as part of our consultative service to you, we offer a free cost-benefit analysis. We will analyze the current operating costs of your duplicators and other output devices. This study may help show how you can upgrade without significantly increasing costs, or even pay less than you are now. As you can see, we have addressed many of the benefits you will receive with the new RISO RZ series. The RZ390 with its e600 dpi and “i”QualityTM system offers a competitively priced alternative to all three of these models with superior output quality and new spec to win features (e.g. pencil mode & ink save mode). RISO still offers the most standard colors. RISO offers greater versatility and cost containment with our link-enabled technology.
