GENERAL INFORMATION
Denna information är speciellt avsedd för forsknings- och
produktionslaboratorier, mindre och medelstora farmaceutiska företag, medicinska och biologiska undersökningslaboratorier, sjukhusapotek, sjukhus och forskningsinstutitioner.
This brochure is specifically addressed to test- and production laboratories, small and medium sized pharmaceutical
companies, medical and biological analytical laboratories,
drug-producing hospitals and research institutes.

INJEKTIONSFLASKOR
INJECTION VIALS
Rörglasflaskor av borosilikatglas en!. hydrolytisk klass 1 bruna eller klara,
tillverkas i överensstämmelse med de globalt accepterade ISO-standarderna 719 och 720 och har en oöverträffad hydrolytisk resistens. Deras
utmärkta ytresistens minimerar utan efterbehandling växelverkan mellan
behållare och preparat. Därmed är de förstklassiga behållare för fasta och
flytande produkter.
Vials made from dear or amber glass tubing with Class 1 hydrolytic resistance, meeting ISO standards 719 and 720, offer unsurpassed hydrolytic
resistance. Their inert inner surface minimises interaction between drug
and glass, without any further treatment, making them first class containers
for both liquid and solid pharmaceutical products.
Flaskorna produceras till dimensioner och storlekar enligt ISO-standarden
8362-1. Vi producerar flaskorna inom snäva toleranser och flaskornas
plana botten, jämna godstjocklek liksom deras låga vikt gör dem speciellt
lämpade för frystorkning.
Alla flaskor i dessa storlekar kan levereras både i brunt och klart glas. Silkscreentryck med keramisk inbränd färg är möjlig, likaså invändig silikonisering av flaskorna.
Tillverkning sker i vertikal-matade produktionsmaskiner som är utrustade
med optoelektroniska kontrollsystem. Alla funktionella mått kontrolleras
till 100 %. Efter avspänningsugnen förpackas flaskorna i renrum under
LAFflöde i krympfilmade PP-korrugerade tråg eller PE-film.

The vials are produced according to ISO 8362-1. Their dose manufacturing
tolerances, as well as their flat bottoms, make them the preferred container
for lyophilisation.
All vials with these dimensions are available in dear or amber glass. Silkscreen printing as well as internal siliconisation is possible.
The vials are produced on vertically-fed production machines which are
equipped with optoelectronic controlsystems. These control all functional
dimensions to 100%. The vials are then packed under dean-room conditions in air-tight, welded, PP-corrugated, reinforced MG-tray-packs or
shrinked PE-film.

RÖRGLASFLASKOR MED GÄNGA
SCREWNECK VIALS
Flaskor för skruvlock enligt DIN 58378 form AR med gänga enligt DIN168
levereras som standard tillverkade av rörglas hydrolytisk klass 1, klara eller
bruna. Andra glastyper levereras på förfrågan.
Threaded vials, which meet DIN 58 378 form AR with rounded thread to
DIN 168, are made as standard in both c1ear and amber, hydrolytic Class 1
glass tubing. Other types of glass are available on request.
HYDROLYTISKA KLASSER
Farmakopeerna definierar den hydralytiska resistensen hos glas som frigörande av glasets vattenlösliga beståndsdelar vid kontakt med vatten under
definierade förhållanden. Efter autoklavering bestäms vattnets alkalitet
genom titrering eller flamfotometri.
HYDROLYTIC CLASSES
The hydralytic resistance of glass is defined by the Pharmacopoeia as the
rate of solution of the water-soluble components of the glass into the water
during contact under defined conditions. After autoclaving the alkalinity is
analysed by titration or flame photometry.
Glasbehållare avsedda för läkemedel indelar farmakopen i 3 hydralytiska
klasser:
There are three hydrolytic classes for containers of tubular glass.
KLASS I: Neutralglas eller borosilikatglas. Är avsedda för sura, neutrala
och alkaliska lösningar, varav det rekommenderas en stabilitetstest för den
sistnämnda. De kan steriliseras före och efter fyllning.
KLASS II: För inhalations- och nasalpreparat används i stor utsträckning
rörglas i hydrolytisk klass II för t. ex. spraypumpar. Vanligtvis avses här
efterbehandlat klass III-glas.
KLASS III: Sodaglas med genomsnittlig hydralytisk resistens. USP 23 tillåter
denna glastyp för användning till parenterala lösningar bara efter genomfört
stabilitetstest. Den europeiska farmakopen specificerar att glaset bara får
användas för vattenfria och pulverformiga injektionspreparat. Klass 3 skall
före användning torrsteriliseras.

CLASS I: Neutral or borasilicate glass. This is suitable for acidic, neutral and
alkaline solutions, with compatibility testing recommended for the latter (alkaline solutions). This type of glass can be autoclaved before or after filling.
CLASS II glass is not described here because it is a posttreated soda-lime
glass which is not used for tubing.
CLASS III: Soda-lime glass with average hydralytic resistance. USP 23 permits the use of this glass for parenteraIia only after specific stability testing.
The European Pharmacopoeia specifies that it is used only for water-free or
powdery injectables. Class III vials schould be sterilised using dry heat only.

AMPOULES
Glasampuller i klart eller brunt glas. öppen eller sluten form, användes i
farmaciindustrin för fyllning av injektionslösningar. Den neutrala invändiga
glasytan avger inga ämnen till preparatet och de efter fyllningen gastäta
ampullerna ger en lång hållbarhetstid.
Open and closed ampoules of clear and amber glass are used by the pharmaceutical industry as containers for liquid injectables. The inert surface
of the glass does not contaminate the drug and the hermetically sealed
ampoule guarantees a long and stable shelf-life for the preparation.
Ampullerna produceras för olika öppningstekniker. I standard levererar vi
ampullerna i form 8 (öppna) resp. form D (slutna) med vit brytring. Också
OPC - (One-Point-Cut) ampuller tillverkas. liksom ampuller med andra
färger på brytring och OPC-punkt.
It is the opening technique which characterises the type of ampoule used.
Both standard forms (8 and D - see diagram below) are supplied with a
white break-ring indication. Other colours or OPC ampoules are available
on request.
Ampullerna tillverkas i enlighet med ISO 9187 part 1: Ampoules for injectables respektive ISO 9187 part 2: Onepoint-cut (OPC) Ampoules.
The ampoules are produced according to 1509187 part 1: Ampoules for
injectables and ISO 9187 part 2: One-pointcut (OPC) Ampoules.

All ampoules are produced on the most modern machines which are
controlled 100 % by opto-electronic control systems. These in-line controls
guarantee consistent quality and close tolerances of the opening break force
required.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

Adsorption: Då proppen som är FluroTec® -belagd praktiskt taget
förhindrar all adsorption är den väl lämpad för mindre volymer eller
låga koncentrationer.

Siliconisation: The lamination of the of stoppers with FluroTec®
coating provides an excellent smooth surface which prevents the
stoppers from sticking on the production lines and reduces the need
for siliconisation. Thus the main source of invisibly small particles is
eliminated.

Particulate contamination: The FluroTec® lamination prevents
thermal deterioration of the rubber during sterilisation procedures so
minimising the formation of secondary particles. Because the smooth
FluroTec® film is easily cleaned particulate contamination is effectively
removed by rinsing.

Biological purity: Hot water treatment in the final stages of production eliminates practically all germs. Internal analyses showed nearly
immeasurable endotoxin values of < 0,0002 EU/ml.

YTBEHANDLING
B 2 behandling
B2 behandling av gummiproppar förbättrar gummiytornas glidegenskaper
samtidigt som överföring av silikonolja till preparatet minimeras.
COATINGS
Flurotec®
FluroTec®is a PTFE (TEFLOW®) or ETFE (TEFZEL0®) coating on the
contact surface of rubber stoppers. These films form a barrier between the
stopper and the drug completely preventing any chemical interaction. In
addition the high surface tension of the FluroTec® coating prevents the
adsorption of proteins on to the stoppers.
SURFACE TREATMENT
B 2 treatment
Applying the B 2 treatment to the stoppers improves their movement along
the Production line and minimises any subsequent silicone oil contamination of the solution.

of stress caused by temperature, humidity and pressure. All closures meet
the requirements of the pharmaceutical industry for the reliable protection
of the contents in all respects regarding hygiene, sealing tightness and
security.
Genom renrumsproduktion (klass 10 000) garanteras lågt partikelinnehåll
och mikrobiologisk renhet. Därigenom kan dyrbara tvätt- och sterilisationsprocesser undvikas. Skruvlocken kan, om så önskas, kompletteras med
inlägg av olika typer liksom med pensel, sked, spatel etc.

Production in a dean-room atmosphere (class 10.000) guarantees products
with low particle and biological contamination, as well as avoiding the need
for expensive washing and sterilisation process. On request the closures
can be provided with any type of washer as well as with brushes, spoons

AMPOULEBREAKER
Ampoules (from Latin ampulla = small bottle)
are small glass containers used for packaging
sterile injectables. They are widely used within
healthcare, where usually no aids are available to
open them. This leads to the risk of nursing staff
suffering cuts on their hands when they open
and handle ampoules.
Nordic Pack’s Ampoulebreaker is an effective
tool for opening ampoules safely:

Holds the ampoule securely
made by a Swedish doctor, Dr Anders Blomberg
(United States Patent Number 4,793,538). The
Ampoulebreaker can be used for most ampoules.
How to use the Ampoulebreaker
Place the ampoule in the bottom of the Ampoulebreaker. If it is an OPG-ampoule the OPG dot
should face towards the user. On the larger ampoules 5-10 ml, a thumb can be pressed against
the body of the ampoule so that it is held more
securely. Press the top of the ampoule backwards
against the heel until it snaps. The ampoule
should remain standing in the Ampoulebreaker,
on a flat surface, while the contents are drawn
out.
The Ampoulebreaker comes in two sizes: 1-3 ml
and 5-10 mI. It is a patented medical invention
