Questions • What are some ways to attract new pet food customers to your location? • What questions can you ask your current pet food customers to ensure they are buying the best food suited for their pet? Tuffy’s and Nutrisource • Tuffy’s is our supplier of NutriSource and Tuffy’s Gold, and they have decided to make a distribution change • We are now bound by the distribution pricing dictated by Tuffy’s. Tuffy’s cost to Feed-Rite has increased, and as a result our costs to dealers will need to increase, along with the suggested retail prices. • Because of the rigid pricing structure, Feed-Rite will not be able to provide pallet or other volume discounts on NutriSource and Tuffy’s Gold brands. And these brands will not be eligible for the Companion Animal Category Leader discounts. Tuffy’s and Nutrisource • In discussions with our supplier it has been implied that rural farm stores are not going to be part of their distribution plans in the future. We have been told that Tuffy’s Gold will be going to a national chain of hardware stores and from their pricing strategies that national chains are part of their growth plans. Tradition Pet Food • The Tradition pet food brand is owned as a private label by Feed-Rite. It is exclusive to FeedRite and Feed-Rite dealers, and is still our number one brand of pet food. The pricing structure, discounts, and Category Leader status will not change. • We would appreciate if you; our dealers would work with us to as we go through these changes and try to work with our supplier to find a way to be part of their supply chain.
