PostNord Oy assumes no obligation to transport
shipments that exceed the aforementioned maximum
measures or weight. We reserve the right to handle such
shipments in ways that may differ from the specifications
in these special terms and conditions.
Calculating cubic volume
If the size of the parcel is large in comparison to its weight, the space the parcel occupies constitutes the shipment's
volumetric weight which, in turn, affects the freight price. By stating the cubic conversion factor, we indicate the factor
applied in converting the shipment's volume into volumetric weight. The volumetric weight is calculated as follows:
Height (1) x Width (2) x Length (3) x 250
Measurements are multiplied in metres.
For example, if the measures of a parcel are: 54 cm x 67 cm x 45 cm, it is calculated as follows:
(0.54 x 0.67 x 0.45) x 250 = 40.70 kg.
When the volumetric weight is larger than the actual weight, the basis of pricing is the volumetric weight. Should the actual
weight be larger than the volumetric weight, the basis of pricing is the actual weight.
Transport documents
The shipment shall be marked carefully with a parcel label. PostNord shall be notified in advance for each shipment by using
a PostNord approved transport management system or by sending a prealert as a PostNord approved EDI standard file.
Please contact our sales department for further information on the prealert process.
Should PostNord not receive the aforementioned prealert, or should it be inaccurate or incomplete, the customer will be
charged an additional fee according to PostNord 's current rate card.
PostNord is under no obligation to transport shipments for which no prealert has been provided.
