Types of Employment
1. Casual Employee
No definite definition can be given. He has no permanent place or
office and he is employed in a daily basis for some special work.
He is employed outside the regular business or trade.
Employed for a casual job. If he is asked to come regularly, for eg.
once a month, for cleaning he cannot be designated as a Casual
Employee
2. Temporary Employee
can be easily confused with casual employee. Main difference is
that a temporary employee is employed for regular or normal jobs
which is part and parcel of the employer’s business but for a short
period of time.

Types of Employment
3. Fixed Term Contract
A person employed for a Fixed Period. The Contract
comes to an end at the end of the period. No
requirement to extend the contract. No claim can be
made for termination.
4. Probationary Employee
Period of testing. Confirmation must be made. What are the
rights of a Probationary Employee.
5. Permanent Employee
