A Pure Digital Solution for Complete Peace of Mind
Monitor your home or business with levels of clarity and detail never before
possible with Q-See’s completely digital, high-performance 8 channel Network
Video Recorder. The QC838 is pre-equipped with 8 Power Over Ethernet (POE)
ports, eliminating the need to run a separate power cable or buy extra, expensive
equipment, saving both time and money!
The Q-See NVR’s ultimate benefit is the flexibility it affords through its ability to
operate and connect with remote IP cameras. This single NVR manages and
records up to 8 cameras simultaneously regardless of where each camera is
located. In addition to the convenience of monitoring various properties, enjoy an
extra layer of security by placing the NVR in a safe, low-risk location to limit access
to the system and its critical recordings.
The QC838 supports IP PTZ cameras through the CAT cable without extra cables for
power and control wires. It also supports audio feeds through the CAT cable for
cameras that have microphones so no additional audio inputs are needed.
The system is calibrated with 1920x1080 color-rich image quality to maximize the
clarity and detail of people and actions including, facial recognition, license plate
identification, currency validation and more. View smooth video on all locally
connected cameras at an impressive 30 FPS per channel.

FAQ
Question: When I view the video from a remote location it is choppy, how can I
improve that?
Answer: Go into the record menu on the NVR and lower the resolution, frame rate,
and bit rate settings to create smaller files.
Question: What is the RS232 port on the NVR used for?
Answer: That port is currently used for testing and debugging, it does not have any
end user usages at this time.
Question: How can I connect my standard CCTV cameras to this unit?
Answer: You can only connect IP cameras to this NVR, however, if you have a QC
Series DVR you can view the cameras that are attached to it as remote devices
through the NVR. You can record from those cameras on this unit as well.
Question: Can I connect 720P cameras as well as 1080P cameras to this unit?
Answer: Yes, this unit will support both types, you can also view and record the video
from both at 30FPS.
