The sum of two numbers is 255. When the
smaller is subtracted from the larger, the
result is 39. Find the numbers.
Let the two numbers be x and y (smaller)
x + y = 255
x - y = 39
Type #2: Money
Tran has $10000.00 to invest. She invests some
money in bond A at 4%, and some money in
stock B at 5%. If the total interest was $440.00,
how much did she invest in each?
Let the two investments be A and B
A + B = 10000
0.04A + 0.05B = 440
