I know this is right cause Ms.
Drye taught me to use my
hundreds chart, but it took me
forever and I know I can’t use a
hundreds chart when I have to
count to 9,876.
I know this isn’t
right because I
can’t have 2 digits
in the ones place
The problem is, is that I
have three different answers
I know that 36 has 3 tens
and 6 ones and
I know 28 has 2 tens and
8 ones, but I don’t know
what my answer is
Will you help me
solve this problem
step by step?

Do I need to regroup?
YES
NO
So because I was able to
regroup, doesn’t something
have to go on top of the

You guys are doing GREAT!!
Keep up the good work. Just
remember though. If you
have more than 9 ones you
can always regroup.
Hang In There!!!
You have to regroup because you have
more than 10 ones in the ONES column.
You will need to group 10 ones and make a
tens rod.
Remember: If you have more than 9 ones.
You will always be able to regroup
