When the Libero replaces a player on the court, enter an L in that serving
position. When the Libero is replaced, enter the number of the returning
player to the right of the L. Be sure the number of the returning player is
the same as the one that the Libero replaced. DO NOT slash the
number or the L during a Libero replacement.
When a regular substitution occurs, slash the exiting player number and
enter the new number. Thus, only subs will have slashed numbers.

• This Libero tracking presentation was designed to
illustrate a number of situations Libero Trackers typically
encounter.
• The Libero Tracker partners with the scorer to ensure all
substitutions are properly recorded.
REMEMBER
• The same number MUST always appear before and
after the Libero’s number on all replacements.
• Notify the R2 immediately of an illegal Libero
replacement.
• Watch both sides, as Liberos often replace from
both teams on the same dead ball.
• Communicate and coordinate with the scorekeeper
often to ensure accuracy.
• At the end of a time out, make sure the correct
players return to the court.
• Try to SEE the replacement rather than try to figure
out what might have happened.
• Have fun with what you are doing.
