Diverticulosis of the colon is an anatomical condition very common in the western world
(> 70 % of sixty is affected ) , and is increasing in countries of the developing world.
The majority of patients remain asymptomatic throughout their lives , but about 25% of
them will encounter symptoms and complications related to the diverticula . This results
in extremely high in cost for the National Health System. .
Despite this, diverticular disease of the colon, with all its facets of clinical pathology is
still misunderstood and considered very little . However, in recent years there have been
major innovations in both pathophysiological and therapeutic sides , innovations that
have led to both a better understanding of the causes of the disease that embarking
on new therapeutic avenues .
For this reason we organized an international event to better understand of this important disease . This event, according to the criteria accredited from Continuing Medical
