FUNDECO (Scientific Foundation for Continuing
Education in Dentistry and Dental Trauma) was
established in 2002 by Dr. Sonia Ferreyra in Córdoba,
Argentina.

MAIN ACTIVITIES
Education Program: The goal is to educate highly qualified
dental professionals in the fields of clinical endodontics and
dental traumatology. Courses are presented by AAE member
Dr. Sonia Ferreyra, both nationally and internationally on a
regular basis.
Seminars covering a wide range of topics have been
presented by AAE members Dr. James Gutmann and Dr. Paul
Lovdahl including a highly intense “hands-on” 4-6 day program
on Endodontic Surgery

MAIN ACTIVITIES
Clinical Program: All treatment provided under the
auspices of FUNDECO is free of charge to enhance
the educational experiences of the dentist and to
enable patients to retain their teeth using
contemporary endodontic and restorative treatment
modalities.
Research and Development Programs: Creative
intellectual activity is fostered through ongoing
clinical and animal research activities in addition to
a focus on the dental literature for all participants to
support evidence-based choices in treatment.

• Prevention and Promotion Programs: Create awareness
and achieve a proper managenment of traumatic
emergencies
1. Schools Program (Educate teachers, parents and
physical education instructors on early and proper treatment
of traumatized teeth)

• Prevention and Promotion Programs:
2. Sports Program (Educating coaches, physical
education teachers and athletes regarding the benefits of
creating a safe environment during the activities)
3. Emergency Units Program (information is provided
to doctors and paramedics who are in contact with
traumatic dental injuries resulting from accidents or
violent acts)

Rehabilitation and Care Program:
Highly trained professionals from the Foundation provide patient care free
of charge
- Program I:
Immediate care to children and youngsters in cases of trauma at the Niño
Jesús Pediatric Hospital and the Foundation (Agreement with the Education
Ministery). Patients are referred from schools, sports clubs and hospitals.
- Program II:
Management of deep dentinal carious on patients between 6 and 16 years
old.
- Program III:
Focus on adult patients needing Endodontic Treatment.
- Program IV:
Focus on patients needing Endodontic Surgery
- Program V:
Focus on pediatric dentists and provision of care in the primary dentition
