Domination of dispersing and depurative descending function Relationship of the lung to other organs (TCM) 1. Co-related with the skin and hair Opening into the nose 3. Throat as a gateway of the lung 4. Internally-Externally related to the Large Intestine 5. Color indicated: white Copy right: Colin Chan The Lung Channel of Hand-Taiyin Route There are 11 acupoints in the surface pathway of the lung channel. The inner pathway begins in the middle energizer and descends the spine in order to connect with the large intestine. The return pathway passes through the cardiac orifice of the stomach and traverses the diaphragm. The channel penetrates the lung, the organ which belongs to it. 2 3 4 5 6 1 The pathway continue to ascends to the trachea and connects with the larynx and the pharynx, the channel leaves the chest cavity beneath the clavicle at point LU 1. The surface pathway of the lung channel passes over the outer aspect of the inner upper arm to the elbow and runs over the radial margin of the palmer aspect of the forearm and the thumb to the radial side of the thumbnail. Copy right: Colin Chan Route-Branch 7 The branch emerges posterior to the wrist (styloid process) and runs along the dorsum of the hand to the radial aspect of the tip of the index finger where it connects to the Large Intestine channel.
