CGCI is the creation of Josh Shachar, Magnetecs CEO and
CTO, a noted scientist, inventor and mathematician with
more than 20 years experience in the fields of advanced
medical technologies and military guidance systems
•
Magnetecs technology roots: Department of Defense,
electronic guidance and magnetic systems
•
In 1996 Mr. Shachar initiated development of a catheter
control system guided by electromagnetic technology,
integrated with advanced imaging and mapping equipment
•
Magnetecs was founded in 2003 with a world class team of
scientists and engineers

Stable and precise with real time navigation
Reproducible cases
MNS proven safety profile
Continuous development of automatism tools
Short learning curve due to intuitive handling on a haptic controller
Unlimited access to all regions within the heart (right upper pulmonary vein)
Unlimited retrograde approach possible
Efficacy due to electromagnetic field with torque, force and variable field strength
Efficient with SJM Navx integration and magnetic standard catheters, re-sterilizable
accelerator
Open platform allows several other indications
Construction advantages

University Hospital La Paz, Madrid Spain
The CGCI installation at the University Hospital La Paz in Madrid is an example using a limited space. The
main O.R. is 605x837cm, or 50.6 square meters. The CGCI is placed close to the wall, since there doesn’t
need to be space for a respirator. This allows enough room to bring in patients from the Preparation Room
and around the foot of the bed. The Madrid installation includes the X-Ray Tray and Gantry System,
pictured above the CGCI unit. The 9 square meters power room is immediately adjacent to the O.R. The
Control Room is 24 square meters, which is sufficient for an investigational site where additional space is
required for multiple fellows and visitors.
