Gharial Mateo Luna Physical Description The gharial reaches a length of 4-5 meters long. Its body looks almost exactly like that of an alligator, with its greenish scaly skin , long pointed tail , and short stubby legs . However, the most interesting feature on this animal is its snout. It is enormously elongated and flattened (almost like a duck bill) , and has upper and lower jaws that are studded with sharp-edge teeth. Habitat Food- Gharials eat mostly fish, however they have been known to eat bodies of humans found floating in the rivers of there habitat. Water- Gharials get water out of the animal it eats. Shelter- Gharials live in rivers and tributaries. Space- Gharials need secluded rivers. Gharial Babies Incubation : from 72 to 92 days Number of young at birth : 35 to 40 Size at birth : about 2 lbs Baby name : hatchling The Future The Gharial is endangered.
