However may have knock on impact to the rest of the vision Community Space important – no this is an objective and sense of local community appears in the vision already Knowledge-based industries attracted to BS - needs more research before changing vision – could lean on Town plan – Business team needs to consider. Quality of employment offer should be included? Balance Do we need to consult – yes but no change at this stage to draft. © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Neighbourhood Plan Team Meeting Housing & Design Objectives 23rd September 2014 © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Vision Summary for Housing & Design Great place to live, work and play Retain unique market town character Support projected growth in population Enhanced quality of life and greater sense of local community through excellent design Town Centre to remain as the heart of the town An enhanced Town Centre through sensitive conservation, development and renovation © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Objectives Supporting Vision Statements Promote an attractive and harmonious living environment Encourage Garden City/Suburb approach to significant housing developments Specify full compliance with ‘Building for Life 12’ through developer assessment and EHDC reviewal Use the best of traditional styles and materials whilst allowing innovative design where appropriate Promote high functionality and quality Homes must be fit for purpose Secured by Design Match or, ideally, exceed proposed building standards © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Objectives Supporting Vision Statements Provide housing for all and create community cohesion Meet EHDC housing requirement forecasts for quantity, mix and location of housing (or provide evidence to challenge it) Sensitive integration of housing types (including specialist provision) and provision of local community facilities Encourage ‘Homes for Life’ reducing the need to ‘upsize’/’downsize’ Exploit opportunities for renovation and conservation Sensitive development of the Old Goods Yard site to complement rather than compete with the Town Centre Reinforce protection of Conservation and surrounding Area Register of sites, buildings etc. in need of protection and/or renovation (similar to the Listed Building concept) Support identification and protection of local archaeological and historical sites © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Publicity and Engagement 23rd September 2014 © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Strawman Timetable © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Questionnaire Timetable Bishop's Stortford Neighbourhood Plan 2 Questionnaire Timetable STAGE Wks Final draft copy 3 Copy Approval 1 Layout/proofing 2 Design Approval (RF/MW/DB) 1 Printing 1 Distribution 4 Consultation 1 Completion 6 Keying in 3 17/8 24/8 1/9 8/9 15/9 22/9 29/9 6/10 13/10 20/10 27/10 3/11 10/11 17/11 24/11 1/12 8/12 15/1 22/1 29/1 5/1 2 2 2 Analysis = actual © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Publicity and Engagement Consultation stands in Jackson Square based on Questionnaire – (propose Thurs 23 October and Sat 8 November or 15 November) to coincide with printed copies of questionnaire) Publicity leaflet in production Roller banners now produced – in Council reception Banners from carnival to be used at Community Centres in Bishop’s Stortford Facebook and Twitter – Ian Hudson assisting Supply of pens and post-its secured Other material to be launched October/November A board in Market Square, Bishop’s Stortford town signs community centre notices etc. © Bishop’s Stortford Town Council Your town – your plan Bishop’s Stortford Neighbourhood Plan All Saints, Central, South and part of Thorley Revised Schedule Topic Area Lead Members Stage 1 presentation Vision All All 23 Sep Education & Childcare Cathy Alyson, Deborah 14 Oct Housing & Design Murray Norma, Robin 23 Sep Green Infrastructure (To include special green spaces) Rob Cathy, Robin, Colin 14 Oct Health Norma Matthew 4 Nov Sport or Community Facilities, Leisure and Recreation Colin Murray, Deborah, Derek Collinge 4 Nov Special -
