Threats to the Survival of the
Giant Panda




Wild Giant Pandas are found only in a
number of relatively small areas within
China.
China has the largest human population of
any country in the world.
And the expansion of areas used by
humans, can mean less space for the
pandas.
Pandas need to be able from place to place,
but some places have a lack of bamboo
which the pandas feed on, this means some
pandas will starve them selves too death.

Pandas feed on 25 to
40 pounds of bamboo
per day.
When bamboo dies-off
this is a natural
process, occurring
every 15-120 years.
After flowering bamboo
can take up to 20 years
for re-growth.

completely made
up of bamboo.
They live about

wild, and start
