TEHNO EKO PAK is new packaging waste management operator in Serbia.
Hamburger Recycling Group GMBH Austria is one of our founders through its daughter company in Serbia (Tehnopapir d.o.o.).
HRG has been established in 1853 and bears the name of its founder, Wilhelm Hamburger.
Today, HRG is a well known recycling company and one of leading European paper producers.
HRG is member of “Prinzhorn Holding” and operates with 4 factories for paper production (2 in German, 1 in Austria and 1 in Hungary) and 12 companies for collecting and processing of waste paper and cardboard.
This law determines packaging waste management obligation for manufacturers, importers, packers/fillers and distributors.
All of them are obliged to be ‘’in line’’ with this law and have 3 options available:
Packaging waste self-management.
To pay ‘’penalty’’ fee for placement of packaging on the market to
Environmental Protection Fund.
To transfer obligation to TEHNO EKO
PAK who is authorized packaging waste management operator.
Not realistic option.
In this case company is obliged to:
Provide license for packaging waste management issued by Ministry of environment and spatial planning.
Regularly receive and collect packaging waste from end-users (article 18. and article 23.) and to organize complicated and expensive system of return of its own packaging waste.
Provide adequate space for reception, collection, classification and temporary storage of packaging waste that has been collected (article 19.)
Provide reuse, recycling or disposal in accordance with the law (article 18. and article 23.).
Much more expensive option .
This means that national goals stipulated by this law are not achieved and company pays much higher fee for placement of packaging on the market.
